Just found out the DVCers can get a PAP for $425 (with tax), and we need 4--that's an awful lot of $50 gift cards, but to save the add'l 5% I'll do it!

. . . anyone ever seen higher than $50 value at Target--I've only seen $50 Dis cards at my Target. . .:confused3

. . .they're gonna love me at Guest Services if I show up with 34 $50 gift cards to buy the APs!! :rotfl2:

I have only seen the $50 ones at my Target. Good luck and have a great vacation!

Mine used to only have $25, but added $50 this spring. By the end of our trip, I knew the YC concierge pretty well.

Most places (at POP, all food service, merchandise places) they will just swipe the card and it takes about 10 seconds per card so it's not a big deal. The way the YC's computer is set up, they make a huge production about checking the balance for each card then swiping. That's at least a full minute per card. So paying with a thousand dollars of $25 cards takes a bit of your day. I was down there for 30-45 minutes a few times. But they did it and pretended not to mind. :)

That's the same way they do it at BW. Sometimes I wonder if it's worth the hassle, but I keep doing it!

They do that at DLR too - at the ticket booths; guest relations. It's like, just swipe it after you've rung up the purchase and it will deduct whatever's there, but oh well.

I would suggest calling WDW Guest Service about using GC's for park passes! I bought several Dis GC's @ Target to buy our MNSSHP tickets. The policy is that only 2 forms of payment can be used to buy park tickets..ie..2 gift cards, 1 gift card-1 debit card, etc. I was completely unaware of this, and went through 3 CM's & 2 managers to get them bought. Everyone gave me the same answer and I was told this is the same policy company wide (on phone, online, in person). I was able to figure out how to buy them separately but still had to supplement with my debit card. Just FYI..this surprised me!

My closest Target still carries $50 Disney gc's but used to carry $100's. When I inquired about them at a different Target farther from where I live, the person working in electronics said she thought Target was going to discontinue ALL Disney gc's because she couldn't find them in the status on her little handheld thingamabob. :scared: I hope she was wrong! :scared:

Lucky you! My target only carries $25 Disney cards, and that is what I buy. I get the 5% with my Target debit card and 5% with my pharmacy rewards card, so I buy a few everytime we go.

I just charged everything on the room card and then paid it off with a multitude of $25 gift cards when DD13 and I went in July. The front desk clerk assured me it was no problem, but by the time he was done with 20 gift cards from Target, 1 other gift card I had with a misc. amount, and 1 Disney Visa rewards card, I thought he was going to be upset, but he was very pleasant about it.

I had about $1600 in gift cards when we checked in at AKL in June. They were $25 and $50 increments that I had bought at Target or gotten thru Sunshine Rewards. The CM at the desk had no issues with it at all.

Just do that and then use your KTTW to pay for your APs.

Have fun!

I stocked up this weekend, my store used to have $25's... now they only have $50's. This was in Central Mass.

That used to be the policy but Cheshire Figment has stated in numerous posts that this is no longer the case. This post was from June of this year:
Yes. At any ticket window we can accept an unlimited number of Disney gift cards toward the purchase of tickets. This does not work with Amex, MC or Visa branded gift cards.

You can get $50, $100, and $500 gift cards at Giant Eagle if you have one of those near you. The fuel perks are some of the best I've seen. I pay for our entire vacation with Disney gift cards and get several free tanks of gas. I've filled up my car for free 3 times and I still have several fuel perks points left. And I still have not purchased all of our gift cards yet for our December trip.

I have been nervous about this very thing as our Target had no DG cards whenever I went by last month and there was no place on the shelf for them. I have called several times over the past few weeks to inquire if Target had gotten any GC's restocked. Finally, when I called today they had more in stock.

Is this still the case? I ask because I believe Giant Eagle and Stop and Shop are both owned by the same corporation. I used to buy gift cards for the gas points at Stop and Shop, but I bought $200 worth of Southwest cards last week and noticed I did not get gas points for them. I hopped on Stop and Shop's website, and it seemed to me they are no longer eligible for gas points. I could be wrong, though. I hope Giant is still giving the points, because they have a Giant where my daughter attends school. I'll just save my money and get tem there.

I know CF is extremely knowledgable about this, and I think I purchased my tickets in June..so that would make sense. I do hope its not the case anymore, because that's just silly!!!!

I think you are confused. Giant and Giant Eagle are two completely different stores owned by different companies. Giant Eagle is a grocery chain headquartered in Pittsburgh and they've branched out into some states, but I'm not sure which ones. They offer some of the best fuel perks for gift cards. Their fuel center is called Get Go. They are not affiliated with Giant or Stop and Shop.

Ooooooh. Yup, I definitely had them confused. Rats.

Thanks for clearing that up for me, though. :)

Our Target only has the $25 and $50 gift cards and I have bought a LOT of them! My partner works at Target and gets a 10% discount + we get a 5% discount for using our Red Card and then we get an additional 5% discount for using Pharmacy Rewards. So a $50 gift card costs $40.62!!! Its hard to believe but we really do get the dscounts on gift cards. So the $425 DVD PAP is going to cost us $345 in gift cards!

You can also get the discounts on all of the restaurant gift cards that Target sells, We will stock at Target on our way to dinner and get a discounted gift card to pay for the meal.

Our target doesnt even sell gift cards :( and our grocery store that does fuel perks doesnt sell them either. I had to buy some at walgreens today. They are the reloadable ones and you can put upto $500 on each one.

I had the same problem when I tried to buy my MNSSHP tickets over the phone. The CM said only 2 forms of payment, but I believe it is only for special event hard tickets.
