DD4 loves to sing and she often listens to the radio in the house, car, etc. I catch her later on singing the songs she hears but she doesn't quite get the words right.

'I Like It, I Love It" by Tim McGraw
As sung by Hannah

I like it, I louck it
I jon jon juck it
I cry so hard
I quenzan zuck it

Na na na na na
Real bad boy

But I like it, I louck it
I jon jon juck it.

It cracks me up every time I hear her sing it. I've had her listen to the CD, I sang the right words to her. But she insists she is right and even has DD3 singing it her way.

You should hear what she does to ABBA.

Any one else's kids sing creative lyrics?

How about Husbands????

My DH loves the old Stevie Nicks song about the White-Winged Dove.....Except his version has a Wild Ranger instead.

My 3 year old son does this too! I can't always understand what he is saying and if I ask him to repeat it he gets embarrassed.

He loves the Sheryl Crow song The First Cut is the Deepest. I think he sings it differently each time, but today he sang
The first sky is the coolest
baby I know
The first sky is the coolest...

He also loves the song that says A little bit of this, a little bit of that he sings
A little bit of this, a little bit of that,
call me in the morning and I'll call you back,
A little bit of this, a little bit of that,
call me in the morning and I'll call you back...

He's so funny!

A few years ago, my DD used to sing "Get your pecans" when the song "Get your freak on" was on the radio. :teeth:

I don't have kids, but had one of my 8-yr old cousins and her 5-yr old sister in the car with me last night. The 8-yr old sang:

We got in trouble
'Cause we wouldn't get dressed

And the 5-yr old picked up the next line

We were just jackin' around, jackin' around, jackin' around.

I nearly fell out of the car laughing!

(No particular tune, just the made-up kid song tune.)

DD 6 sings from the time she wakes up until the time she goes to bed at night.....she starts one song and will make up the lyrics and end with another song. Sometimes there are as many as 6 songs with the same tune, lol.

This song will never be the same for me again!

It's always going to be "jon jon juck it!" now! hahahahah

The cutest I have ever heard was this take on Rupert Holmes's song Escape (the Pina Colada Song)

Do you like Pina Coladas?

became

Do you like bean enchiladas?

I sing it this way every time I hear this song now.

OK, this isn't a song, but my DD5 was in the Kindergarten show Tues. night, and they recited the Pledge of Alliegence. She said, "...and to the Republic, for Richard stands, one nation..."

Too cute!!

Oh, another funny one- back in the late 70's, my best friend and I thought the Bee Gees' "More Than A Woman" was "Bald-Headed Woman"!!

Everyone in my family does this.

Patsy Kline - I fall to pieces was changed to I ordered two pizzas.

I really shouldn't say this on a family board so ya'll will have to fill in the missing letters yourselves. Walk like an Egyptian - Walk with an er**tion.

If I think of more I will come back.

DS6 sometimes makes up words to some of the religious songs he learns at at school. He means no harm, but sometimes I am afraid someone will hear him and think he is disrespectful!

My DS5 LOVES The Haunted Mansion.

Here is his rendition of Grim Grinning Ghosts:

Well, don't close your eyes or you'll start to fly
And a silly ghost will sit by your side.

Happy Haunts natelialize
And being to terrorlize

Lim Grinning Ghosts come out to terrorlize.

He sings it really spooky and tries to scare our dogs. He cracks me up.
