Anyone work for Costco?

DH has an interview with them tomorrow (the stock manager already says he wants him, just needs store manager approval) and I was wondering if there are any special perks that come with the job. Ex. discounts or free membership. I have heard that they are a pretty good place to work. Wish us luck!

The other thing I heard about Costco that I think is pretty is cool is that when the economy went down, they reduced hours instead of eliminating staff. It stinks to have your hours cut, but that hurts less than a bunch of people out of work. (At least that's what I read in the local paper several months back - not sure if they were able to stick to it.)

It is my understanding that Costco has about the lowest employee turnover rate of any major retail chain; they have to be doing something right for this.

My husband works for them (hes in management) and its a wonderful company benefits are great(they offer benefits for unmarried partners, if they reside together for a year or more, so we didnt need to be married for me to be on my husbands insurance) ...Pay is one of the top for retailers...They treat their employees right! No discounts but free memberships are great! My husband worked for Sam's Club, Target and Walmart, and said Costco by far is the best as far as benefits and wages! Good Luck to your husband!

I saw on either Dateline or 20/20 last year a show about best employers to work for in the USA and Costo was #1. Best CEO, best starting wages, excellent benefits, etc. I think it would be a great job for your husband to have. Good luck today.

I saw an article on COSTCO.

It is a publicly traded company on wall street.

They were being pressured by wall street to cut cost and lay off workers. The street looks towards short term gains,

COSTCO's response was the workers are the backbone of the company and they would not do it. They look after their workers.

Their stance has paid off very well!!! Too bad more companies would do the same.
