We requested a redress control number for my DH. He has a common name and someone with the same name did something to get themselves on a watch list! I requested a redress control for him well over a month ago and we still haven't heard a word. I emailed them and they said it takes time. I understand that, but we are flying next month and his still says pending documentation which I did email them 2x just to make sure. Anyone have any experience with this? TIA

No experience with the redress, but he should still be able to get on his flight, he'll just be subject to additional search. Not the end of the world as long as you give yourself appropriate amounts of time.

You might want to visit over on FlyerTalk and their "Safety and Security" board.

Now that the airlines are required to provide additional personal information (d.o.b., middle name/initial and gender) to TSA, the process at the airport might be easier.

ETA: If you can manage it, handle all the carry-ons yourself and have none for him. Oops, never mind, just saw the ages of the kids . . . you'll have your hands full.

Thanks for the link. Doesn't look good for him getting his redress number anytime soon. It looks like it's going to take longer than it did for him to get his passport. Even though we enter his birthday and middle name, he still has trouble.

Also PP, I know he can still get on the plane. It's something that has been going on for 5 years. Someone finally told us what the issue is and how to go about getting it fixed. Traveling with the kids, the quicker the better. Plus he has a few work trips coming up and we're just trying to make the process go faster for him.
