Green River is in the southwest portion of the state, by Rock Springs and Flamingo Gorge NRA. We're considering a tour up there next summer. Does anyone have any experience with the weather there? I know the temps, but I'm particularly interested in how humid it is, in June. And anyone have any recommendations on some good places to view nature?

That's where they held the Green River Mountainman Rendezvous for years and years in the 1800s, isn't it?

We stopped there for a day when we were enroute to Yellowstone back in 1998. They have a great Mountainman Museum. I really can't remember much about the best spots for nature viewing. It is a beautiful place with wonderful scenes in all directions.

I got all of my touring information from the AAA Tour book.

I don't think that Green River is that terribly far from Kemmerer which is the area where most fossil fish come from. There is also Fossil Buttes National Monument which is interesting. As far as humidity goes - that part of the country is much drier than Texas - especially south Texas! It's fairly desert-like in that part of Wyoming. I'm not sure how far it is - but Dinosaur National Monument (Park?) is in the NW corner of Colorado. It's a fascinating place. That whole part of the country is one of the greatest fossil producing areas. Don't know if you're interested in that, but it makes for some unusual sites that you won't find anywhere else.
