Anyone with experience with Comcast Cable?

We ended up with Comcast by the purchase of Adelphia. Horrible, just horrible. The internet connection was out more than on for a while. The TV has been fine, but they seem to have a lot of trouble keeping the internet working. It has been better lately though. Hopefully all my problems were related to the transition, and not indicitive of the support as a whole.

You will eventually have to get a new email address.

Oooh, this probably is the answer to the problem I'm having. I had Adelphia, just bought out by comcast. And my internet IP address was "lost". I'm going to have to call them, but I haven't had the hour I expect it to take since it happened!

Have you tried turing the modem off?
Turn the computer and modem off (probably have to unplug modem)
the start up the computer and plug in the modem.
If that doesn't work uninstall the modem driver from your computer (with it disconected from the computer) then try a fresh install.
If those don't work, then give them a call. Those are the things they would probably have you try. Then again they might have you try it again with them on the phone LOL

Had Comcast for some time in PA before moving to FL, and had no issues with them. They responded quickly to the few problems that we had. Now that Comcast has bought Adelphia, I have them again here in Orlando, and have had no issues with them. I have had not outages, or technical issues, and have spoken to Customer Service several times (I always paid my bill on line, and that is not an option at this time for those who moved from Adelphia to Comcast), so I call each month to make my payment over the phone. All the Cust Svc reps I have spoken too have been friendly. Never had any real issues with Adelphia either - longest outage was 1 day and that was after lightning struck the cable in my yard between the house and the box.

I agree, anytime I have an issue with losing a connection - has not happened for some time, I unhook everything (modem and wireless router)- including unplugging the modem at the wall, not just unplugging the cord from the back of the modem, and I have always been able to reset things myself without having to call.

I work at home, so my internet connection is in use many many hours a day, and I really have had very minimal outage issues that were not from something beyond Comcast control.

We have had nothing but problems. Every single bill we get has a charge of $250 for an NBA package that we never ordered. Everytime we call they say they will take it off the next bill but they never do. It has become a joke when we get the bill that the NBA package will be on there even after they swear it won't be and it always is.

We have had other billing issues and they seem to never get resolved even after talking to managers, etc. Comcast is included in our HOA so we really have no choice except to get satellite but we would still be paying for Comcast.

Ditto- nothing but problems. Botched installation- horrible customer service. If we call to change anything they turn our service off. If we call to add anything they turn our service off. Our service regularly turns off without us having to call. Our DVR works sporatically- I record shows, but can hardly ever watch them. If we try to rewind or FF something it might work, or it might just change channels and then forget it. We have a new saying at our house... if anything doesn't work or is all messed up, we say "It's Com-castic!" If I was watching a show and leave to room to return to a blue screen- DBF say "It's Com-castic!" before I get a chance to ask why my show is gone. I refuse to call- I make him do it- because I usually end up in tears trying to deal with them. COMCAST IS DEVIL-CABLE!;)

ETA- I won't even go into the overbilling issues- just add me to the list. It's Comcastic.

Total weasels. They tried to run a scam here; sent people letters telling them they had been detected stealing pay-per-view and threatening them with legal action should they fail to pay up. Problem was, some of the people they threatened did not even have cable! They were exposed by the local media, fined and forced to apologize.

We have both tv and internet with Comcast. Internet is fast and reliable, it's never been down since we've had it, not once, and we've had it for over two years.

The tv isn't bad either, it rarely goes out at all, and never during prime time. My only quible is with the DVR we rent from them, that leaves a bit to be desired. It gets the job done though.

I've had nothing but problems with them but I have NO CHOICE. In my area they're about the only choice. I've had them for about 8 years since they bought out the previous nightmare cable. I don't like satellite so I'm stuck with them... and them with ME.

Check your bill MONTHLY. They are notorious for adding charges without notification. I had a nice long talk with the Customer service rep night before last about the extra TWENTY DOLLARS my account went up by. If you NOTICE it they'll find a way to take it off...otherwise, 95% of their customers eat it.

My basic cable went out A LOT, not so much the digital. I love my DVR but have outages sometimes every week. It is sometimes the weather or whatever but rarely do I call and NOT get the recording about the regional outages.

Ugh! I just found out that Comcast is buying out Insight in our area. We have no other cable compnaies to chose from, so we will be stuck. I am not looking forward to the change after reading some of these comments!!!!:scared:

Also here in Springfield, IL and whereas we have a dish for most channels, we also have basic cable for the extra TVs in the house.

We do use Insight's internet service and have always been very pleased with it. I hope it holds up.

We'll see in the coming months I guess.

.

What don't you like about satellite? I have both cable and satellite. The cable is analog and it's not too bad. Not snowy. Satellite for the most part is a better picture except for the locals. Sometime they are pretty bad quality (too much compression).

we had adelphia they were bought out by comcast
they are ok
the service is steady we have 1 outage thats it
there customer service stinks
