The ice maker in our refrigerator has gone out and we're considering this as a good time to switch to a new french door model.
But then I read the reviews. Ugh! Horrible reviews are plentiful for every brand -- Kitchenaid, LG, Whirlpool, etc.
I have about $1,500 - $2,000 to spend and just HATE the idea of it not lasting more than 5 years. And so many people have said that even with buying an extended warranty from Lowes, Home Depot or Best Buy, when you have a breakdown it's not covered.
Can anyone recommend a fridge that has lasted??
Thanks!

Then the arms started breaking off & it's still not working right. I'm just suggesting to maybe see what the required maintenance on the new one is (such as filters) & price those before buying.
