I wonder if people are just entering random numbers and then your number is one that someone already used.

Me too. I thought it was something I was doing wrong. I wonder if some computer geek somewhere has figured out a program to generate winning numbers and is using them without the actual button.

I'm sure they have unfortunately...I had initially thought it was someone at our local store but if its everywhere its more then that. It's sad, doing stuff like that will ruin it for us in the future.

Some people have posted that all the buttons they have entered have come back as "used". My mom, cousin and I did really well. We have been entering buttons almost every day. We have gotten enough for:
- 5 sterling silver necklaces (used two $10 and 3 $5) Paid $1.60 each for three of the necklaces using the $5 coupon, $3 for one using a $10 and $5 for one using a $10.
- five pair of fleece PJ pants (used $5 coupon, paid $1 each)
- a pair of flannel PJ pants and a long sleeve kids shirt, used $10 certificate, paid nothing.
- a kitty hat with the built in scarf mittens (used $10 coupon, paid 50 cents)
- eighteen pairs of kids socks for $4 (used a $10 coupon)
- adult socks (used a $10, don't know how much they were before, I wasn't there)
- a puppy purse for $2 after $10 coupon that my DD had been wanting
- a few quick dry exercise shirts for under $5 each with $5 coupon (they were on clearance)

That is what I can think of off the top of my head. We have spent a lot of time at JCP this month. My daughter is having a great time choosing buttons and asks to enter them every morning.

I love this promo! I'm up to 145.00 so far I have had a few say the code was already used so I just throw that one out and use another. I even had one that had no code, not even a sticker for the code I have tons of buttons though, so if one doesn't work it's no big deal. My Penneys is only giving out one per person. I saw a guy at the photo studio with a big tub on buttons. I asked if I could have one. He said I could take all I wanted, that he hated the promo! Apparently he was hacked because he works for Lifetouch, not JCP, but since he worked IN a JCP he was not allowed to play and they were making him give out buttons. He seemed pretty disgruntled about it but it was awesome because I got to stock up on buttons

My penneys is now only giving one button per a person also and have stopped allowing you to combine certificates Guess they are realizing they are loosing money on it.

I still have gotten some great deals from this promo!

Mini Brown baker and large insulated cup with stray= 1.00 after certificate

Love collecting the buttons and love this promo. I have gotten at least $200.00 in coupons (one for $50.00 - othesr $5.00 and $10.00). I have been able to purchase alot of gifts and things for myself.

I love all the different buttons. I am collecting them after I use them. I purchased a nice red stocking and am pinning one of each button to the stocking. I will take a photo and post in a few days. I heard there are 50 different buttons - I think I have about 42 different designs. I am hoping to find one of each.

There are 50. You can google to see all of the different designs. Once I determined which buttons we were missing, I took a picture of each with me into the store (on my phone) and the awesome folks back in the salon helped us dig out the ones we didn't have yet. So now we have a complete set! Maybe your local store would be willing to do the same?

Thanks so much for this info. I started a new job in November and it is 3 miles away from my local JCP - so I have been going there alot. Can't make it today but hopefully tomorrow.

Don't forget about the second chance drawing. Here are the details from the JCP rules #5.

Thanks for posting the 2nd chance drawing info! I just sent my email.

I won 4 $10 gift certificates. One really came in handy when my DD told me she needed a new dress for her recital last week. We went into Penney's and came out with a new dress for $14 . I think this was a really smart promotion on Penney's part. It brought people back into the store where they can see the merchandise and pricing and not be intimidated by the new Penney's. Honestly, I would have paid full price for the dress I bought ... I didn't think that $24 for a nice juniors dress was expensive. Penney's in now on my "radar" for reasonably priced clothing (along with Target and Kohls) when it was not on it before.

If any of you have certificates left they have a lot of the food gifts on clearance already at my store. Jelly bellies, harry and david etc.

I loved this promotion. I won 12 $10 certificates and got tons of stocking stuffers and toys for free. Like a PP mentioned, I too noticed that the regular prices were pretty good. I found lots of stuff on clearance as well for lower prices than I could have achieved during the coupon days.

Thanks for the info on 2nd chance, I was not aware of that! I also think this was a genius promotion, I will regularly go to penny's now because I like their prices! I became a bit of a lunatic when I learned about the buttons, entering about 10 a day between me and my boyfriend (work & personal emails), all together we won $250 (all $5 or $10), I was very happy and was able to get some Christmas gifts with the certificates.
