This is my families first trip on Jet Blue.. Does anyone have an opinion on their experience with this airline. Do they offer a snack and beverage?

I have flown on JetBlue many times from Boston to Orlando....we really don't want to fly any other airline after our experiences with JetBlue. Great crew members, very low key but professional, seats as comfortable as airline seats can be (maybe not like first class but coach!)and nice snack choices and yes, they do offer beverages also. And once you have those TV's to pass the time during the flight, it is hard to think of flying without them.I am pretty sure that somewhere on their website there is a list of the snacks and beverages they offer and also a list of the TV stations.

Thank You for help. I'm really excited about the tv's  I'm hoping that will make the time go by faster, especially for my kids..

I lovelovelovelovelove JetBlue. When I lived in San Diego, I used them every time I flew home to see my family. Endless snacks and beverages (they have really good stuff) and the TVs are perfect. I once flew with a 6 year old sitting next to me, he ate his snack, and then watched TV the entire flight and didn't bug me at all!

You do need to bring your own headsets. You can purchase them from JB for $1 each also. If you purchase them, you should do it BEFORE you board from the counter. If not, you can't get them until beverages begin, so you miss out for a good 20 minutes (we found out). You can also pull all of the earphone from your devices at home and bring them. I've done this too, but it doesn't work too well for little ones.

We started flying JB last year and we love them. We are booked with them for May and October. Watching airfare for August too (too high right now).

I made the move to Jetblue when Song went away..still miss Song. In any case...JB has been just fine. I really loved flying JB. Their prices were competitive, they had good times, they seldom made changes to their flights.
But...now that seems to have changed. Their fares are somewhat higher than I expect. And yes, I do realize that everyone's fares have increased..it's just that JB has increased theirs somewhat more than others.
And, they now fiddle with their flights....eliminating some, changing times on others. I now have to watch them the same way I watch Delta. I book a flight based on what works for me...then JB goes and changes it. Drives me nuts.
But, overall...I like JB. They are ontime, the FAs are great. I love the tv's at each seat. I like the ability to book a seat with extra legroom...my family has very long legs!
I now fly JB, SW and Delta primarily...never anyone else.

I would advise that if you don't bring your own headsets, you absolutely buy them before you board the plane. JB no longer accepts cash on board, so if you want headsets, alcohol, or a blanket or pillow, you will need to hand them your credit or debit card for swiping.

Do the headphones or ear buds that fit in an ipod work? Thanks.

Yes. I just throw a couple of pair in a ziplock bag in my carryon. And yes, also about the cc. They don't take cash on the plane -- forgot that one.

Yes they do! We always bring our Ipods and use the earbuds for the tv's on JB.

We love JB and only fly with them. It helps that the airport they fly out of is only 20 mins. from our house!:goodvibes I would still choose them if I had to travel further to get to them.

The flight crew are always super nice. The tv's are a must with our kids, and me too!;) They have a lot of snacks to choose from and you can have as many as you like. Also as many beverages as you like and they have Dunkin Donuts coffee on board!(DH loves this!) The seats are large and comfy. Not only do they have tv with a bunch of great channels(including Nickelodeon!) they also have satellite radio. There is also a channel where it shows a map and shows you exactly where you are, how fast your going. My kids love this!

OP, you will not regret booking with JB! Also watch your flights. If the price goes down they will give you a credit!!!

We too love JetBlue and are flying them in two weeks. Love the tvs and seats are very comfortable. We have flown them exclusively for the last several trips. We will be booking them again for a February vacation as well once dates are released.

Here is the link to the tv channel listings, there are also movies listed by month and everything you need to find.

They will also give you a credit to your account should the fares for your flights drop and offer you a way to get a free flight with rewards (trueblue points). They still don't charge for the first bag which is nice. FAs are great and we have found them to be mostly on time. I too recommend getting the headphones before boarding the plane. You can use your ipod buds if you prefer.

here's the list of snacks....

No one has mentioned first checked bag is FREE!!! We LOVE Jet Blue. If you are used to flying coach class, it has more leg room than most other airlines. If you are super hungry, you can have more than one snack (free). Last May, they even let my DS and DD sit in the cockpit b4 take off and the flight attendant took a nice picture of them for me!!!

we're flying JB for the 1st time in a few weeks and I was just wondering...do we have to log onto the website 24 hours ahead of time to check in? Or do you check-in when you arrive at the airport and check your bags, print boarding passes, etc?

We usually fly airtran and log into the website to check-in 24 hours - 90 minutes in advance like their site advises. My JB confirmation e-mail says the flight is confirmed so does that mean my check in at the airport is all that's needed?

I was wondering as well if we have to check in ahead of time?

I always check in the night before from home and print my boarding passes there. That way, I can proceed right to the security checkpoint (I travel by carry-on only, so I have no bags to check). I know at JFK airport in NY, they have kiosks right at the JB counter that you can check in through as well.

If the first checked bag is free, what does the second checked bag cost? And is that cost for one way or round trip?

I don't usually checkin at the 24 hr mark..it really doesn't matter much. I just go to the self serve kiosk at the airport. It takes about 10 mins total.

I can't remember what the cost for that second bag is...you can go to the JB site and see..probably around $15-20. That is each way. You will have to pay any checked baggage fees each time you check in.

You don't have to check in 24 hours prior, they give you the option to do so. you can check in at curbside or at the counter. If you are confirmed then there is no need like SW or something to get the appropriate boarding passing grouping. I believe the fee for an extra bag is $20 per bag up to 2 bags per ticketed passenger.

Thats great to hear, I really would rather check in right at the airport..

Has anyone here ever flown out of NewBurgh NY??
