Anyone watching Michael Jackson's memorial?

Okay, Brooke got me. :sad1:

Me, too. :sad1:

And then Deepak commented, "Well, when I spent time with Michael, we talked about Brooke. It didn't seem like she was so close to him. But, when you hear her talk right now, she seemed to think so." (Alluding like he was closer and would know the real story. :sad2:) Deepak, you are scum!

I loved the pic they had up of MJ in black with a big smile. I have to say that his smile was HUGE. For someone who was so unhappy when he smiled he just lit up the room. Looking back at all the retro photos they have been showing all week his smile is what has stood out to me.

He always looked genuinely happy, too bad he wasn't.

Brooke Shields talks about `asexual' Jackson
17 hours ago
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Brooke Shields was 13 when she first met Michael Jackson and the two "instantly became friends" — mainly because sexual tension was off the table.
"Nothing was jaded about him," the 44-year-old actress told Rolling Stone magazine for a special commemorative issue about the King of Pop, on sale Friday.
Shields said the two became close since sexuality wasn't a part of their friendship. She describes her young self as "the most celebrated virgin ever" at a time when women "wanted to throw themselves at (Jackson) and feel like they were going to teach him."
Shields said that as Jackson grew up, "the more asexual he became to me." But he was curious about her early relationships.
"He was like a little kid who talked about the bases — what first base was, what second base was," Shields said. "It sounded very odd to the outside, I can imagine, but to the inside, to someone who's never really left his bubble, you can understand how he would be curious."
Shields said she last saw Jackson in 1991, at Elizabeth Taylor's most recent wedding.
"We snuck in and took pictures of ourselves next to her dress," Shields recalled. "We always seemed to revert to being little kids."

Me, too. :sad1:

What a mean attitude for him to take at such a time. I am wathcing it with no commnetary--I don't think any is really needed.

Wow....Jermaine was incredible....I cried, I admit it...

However, what is going on with Jermaine's hair?? It sort of looked blue on my hi def...Anyone else notice it looks weird? maybe sprayed on? Gosh, I wish I wasn't looking at it during his singing. I found it very distracting.

Id rather be watching an infomercial about carpet stain remover than the coverage of this guy. Why are we glorifying this person. If you or I did what he did, we would be posting on Disboards from a prison cell. Money talks huh. Sure he was aquitted, but if he was innocent, what was the 25 Million to the family of the kid for??? But hey, OJ was aquitted also, and we all know he didnt do it!!!!. Yes, he could sing and dance.....but that pales in comparison to the horrible things that he ADMITTED he did. He had serious personal issues that were never treated properly. Its a total shame the way the media is presenting this. Just my 2 cents!!!

This is Martin Luthor King III and Bernice King. Boy, he got his dad's speaking ability.

This is not the place.

If you have soapnet they are playing it tonight several times.

Probably MTV will too. They played his videos non-stop right after his death for like 24 hours. They will probably treat this the same way.

OMG I'm not even a MJ fan but his brother singing really got me crying:sad2::sad2:
me too. i was watching "just because". i never thought i'd be sitting here bawling like a baby. brooke started it, and his brother singing was just too much.:sad1:

I had tears when "I'll Be There" was sung at the beginning. I will totally lose it if and when they sing "We are the World".

I wish they'd do something "fun", something to remember his sense of humor.

great speeches by the Kings. i thought it was nice of them to tell everyone how gracious michael was to their mother in her final days-a personal bit they didn't have to share.
