Anyone watching Michael Jackson's memorial?

:( I'm not gonna cry....I'm not gonna cry....

That ship sailed for me ages ago. Actually before the memorial service one of the videos they showed was his tribute to Ryan White. I lost it then and have been teatering on the edge (and going over the edge) ever since.

Stevie's made me cry, I missed Jennifer but I'll rewatch it. Brooke is having a hard time getting through this you can tell.

It's going to reair on CNN at 4 est and 7est.

brooke shields is handling her eulogy with grace and sincerity. good for her.

I can't stand Al Sharpton.
I have it on ABC. Deepak Chopra is one of the commentators. I can't stand him. I know someone who works backstage at some of the live events/lectures he's done. I totally believe him when he said Deepak is such a phony. His public personae is that he's so calm, peaceful, serene, nothing phases him. But, backstage in real life, he's such a demanding, critical S.O.B., a perfectionist and a terror to work for. :sad2:

When you watch Deepak on CNN, bashing the doctors who gave the drugs, like he's so pure, I just think, "You are a vulture, hanging off MJ's death, appearing for your own personal gain, as you have a new book out now." :sad2:

Poor Mariah is loosing her upper-register.

That happens when one has been crying. I can't sing high worth crap when I even get misty-eyed.

I'm watching - while taping it for a friend..

Wish they had kept Al Sharpton off the stage - up until now it has been a very nice service..

For those who mentioned being glad that it wasn't an "open" casket, that would be pretty grisly at this point - 13 days later.. I saw my own brother - whose body was held for just shy of a week while family came in from out of state - and the casket should have been closed.. The discoloration was awful - and that was only 6 days.. :sad2:

As for whether or not Michael's body is actually in that casket, who knows? I did hear some reporter state that after this mornings public memorial the immediate would be returning to Forest Lawn for a private burial..

Music always makes everything so much more emotional.. I don't know how his family are managing to get through that.. His photos flashing on the large screen - hearing him singing.. It's actually brought tears to my own eyes a few times..:sad1:

As much as the constant media coverage has been driving me crazy since June 25th, this is a beautiful send off - and one I think he earned.. Rumors and scandal aside, he was a great entertainer; extremely generous; had a huge heart so full of love; was extremely intelligent; and sadly, a child-like tortured soul..:sad2:

Brooke and Michael were an item. This must be so hard for her.

I missed the beginning, are they wearing the gloves on the hands that held the casket, or the free hand?

Ok....back to me not believing MJ is in that casket...

After so many have spoken or sang they have gone down and hugged the family, yet no one has gone over to MJ's casket and touched it....

I really feel for Brooke, I think they probably understood each other very well with them both being child stars. I believe Brooke's grief is very real. She is so beautiful

Just my opinion....

CNN video of the casket arriving - they were wearing the glove on the hand carrying the casket. And some of the brothers bent and kissed the casket before leaving - maybe MJ is in there.

Jermaine singing, "Smile".. Okay - I'm losing it..:sad1::sad1: He loved Michael SO much..:sad1::sad1:

Argh argh argh!! I tried watching it here but it's not working for me :sad2: I certainly HOPE there's a replay for those of us who are working during the ceremony! *sigh*

If you have soapnet they are playing it tonight several times.

It's funny...we've been under rain since he died. Nature's way of crying.

I wonder who had the awful job of deciding who could sing and who couldn't?

You don't tell Stevie no if he offers, but I wonder who else offered to perform?

My heart breaks for Brooke.
