Anyone watching Ben the Bachelor tonight? - NO SPOILERS PLEASE

Why not Emily? :confused3
(1) Emily bored me to tears on Brad's season. Too perfectly beautiful, coy and goody-two-shoes for me.
(2) The ghost of Emily's famous ex-BF is larger than life. Unless a lot has changed since Brad's season I don't really think she has room in her heart for someone else.
(3) Emily's daughter appears to be more important to her than any man which makes her a BIG third wheel on a DATING show.
(4) Emily's wealth will make most of the bachelor boys fish out of water.

I fear a season filled with bachelors that will never be "good enough" for Emily's high standards.

I don't know....
I am not holding my breath on Emily.

I am wondering if the most important sentence in the whole story is the very last one:
"ABC had no comment on the casting news."

Anyhow, if she did it once, she could do it again!!!
I didn't see her as to much of a fame w....
But, once somebody gets involved/hooked, it is probably like a very addictive drug!!!

Anyhow, it is not just 'living up the ghost of the ex-husband' that is the biggest issue.
Not at all.
If she could try to accept BRAD!!!!!
People, the biggest and most blatantly obvious issue with her (and Brad as well) was the 'abandonment' thing.

I think the most blatantly obvious issue with Brad was that he was narcissistic and he had a bad temper. Almost to abusive levels as I recall Emily alluded to.

Who knows, maybe after Brad, BOTH men she loved have fallen of the pedestals she placed them on.

She went from this one, untouchable guy, who was a famous hero, to another "famous guy" who turned out to be a narcissistic, emotionally volatile dud. I wonder if Emily has emotionally grown up through all that? She was emotionally stunted at the age of 17, when her BF died.

Maybe now, she's ready for a real life guy - not one on the show, but after "speed dating" 25 guys, after this, she will be ready to find someone real, moneyed, and has a few quirks & flaws she & her daughter can really love.

...sorry my DH is already taken.....ohhhhhhhh, 'moneyed'....never mind.

Note: I said "why not Emily" because she's no worse than the last two. In fact she's a breath of fresh air compared to those two insecure lackluster choices.

The angles were all set up by the production people. The script could be different this time based on what they feel will pull people in.

Wealth turns off suitors? :confused3 That's new to me!

High standards or not, the show is merely for entertainment. The hook ups are mostly lost causes. I just want someone worth watching. Ashley, Jake, Jason and now Ben were all pathetic.

Or just give us a few weeks of thinking it could happen!

In case you hadn't noticed, I'm about as romantic as a ROCK. Ask my SO!!

And no doubt they'll allude to a big dramatic return of someone in Emily's life...you know, the obligatory scene where everyone is gasping and angry and Emily looks all distraught. Who could it be?! Brad, wanting her back, of course! And when she says "no" (after the appropriate amount of agonizing), and he has a therapy session, he'll state that it's OK, he just needed to apologize to her and needed closure, and hopes she finds the love she deserves because she's a wonderful woman.

Completely agree, Brad was very egocentric and self-absorbed. And his temper, whoa, look out. I believe that during their After the FR segment, Emily said something like one of his brothers asked her if she "had poked the bear" yet, meaning he has a bit of a temper. I even remember during one of those extra mushy one-on-one dates with her, he got irritated, his face started twitching and he just got up and left the room to cool down. If I were Emily and I had a child, that red flag would've been enough for me to send him packing. Sayonara pyscho.

First off, very cool smilie! And I wonder if you might be right. Her fiance was definitely high up there, though I think Brad wasn't quite up as high. Perhaps this crazy show was enough to wake her up? Maybe? I don't know. I suppose we'll see. Should make for an interesting season though. She comes across as a no nonsense type of woman so it will be awesome to see how she'll put these upcoming guys in their place.

I hope she's ready. It would be wonderful for her and her daughter to have a stable man in their lives.

On a side note, I didn't recall that she was wealthy? Is that true? I remember she had a nice home but that's it.

:rotfl2:Yup, I can totally see this happening! Brad will return with his tail between his legs and a certificate from his traveling therapist stating that he's really a great guy and doesn't have a temper at all. Emily will waver but ultimately kick his butt to the curb yet again.

Why do you need to stop watching? This junk is better than a soap opera!:thumbsup2 I've long given up trying to rationalize my watching.

There are a few shows that I watch that I say, "I'm embarrassed to admit, but I watch fill in the blank." This is one of them. That's why I need this thread. :flower3:

Love the note from the Dr! :lmao:

:lmao:There is no shame on this thread! It's probably the most fun I've had on a thread in a long time. Don't worry, it's ok to step forward and admit it, hold your head high! It's so funny to hear what shows people truly enjoy. My 90 year old grandmother absolutely adores that show "Dog, the Bounty Hunter". I sent her some dvd's for Chrismtas and she was in heaven.

Recently my dear college friend told me that she had a secret. She's a closet Bachelor watcher! I laughed and told her that I've watched since season one, that made her feel much better.

You know DH married you for your bacon. That's a huge form of currency. :)

Not a turn off if they have it. More like they can't get it up, if the gal has way more money that they have. :p Remember how emotionally flacid Brad was, sitting in her home?

I think that's why he wanted to move her & her DD out of that home so badly after they got engaged. He pretty much insisted that she move to Houston, before she was ready or felt she could move DD.

:lmao: You just helped the writers come up with an episode!

Emily isn't wealthy. But her DD is one of the heirs to the Nascar dynasty. It appears that her grandparents, and maybe any life insurance policy her father had at his death, (I assume in order to race cars, they have to write up some forms, have insurance policies, in case of death,) may be funding a lifestyle that is rather wealthy. Emily, being the mom, gets to live in that wealthy lifestyle, too. Remember DD's playroom was the size of most people's houses. :faint:

The Grandfather, Rick Hendrick, is a multi-billionaire.

Rickys dad was a Hendrick. If you follow Nascar you know what that means. ;)

So, I didn't read back, is Emily the next bachelorette or are you speculating?
