Though the DONALD is NOT my favorite person... (flashback to the Post headlines during the Marla fiasco)... I watched because of Mark Burnett's affiliation with the production.

I found it very interesting. The people are really incredible, and the first cast off of the night proves that people skills vs school skills is what gets you through.

Funny, but I thought if the women lost it was pretty obvious who would go.

We'll see.

Did anyone else find the DONALD's home gaudy???? I believe LESS is more! :earseek:

I watched the whole show, and I agree with your observations. Could he fit any more gold and marble into that apartment???

I thought for sure the females were going to lose the challenge, but that just goes to show you how clever they can be with editing. I think this is going to be an interesting show to watch.

::yes:: I watched The Apprentice. It was different than anything else I'd ever seen, and quite enjoyable. And I agree, his home was too gaudy for me.

I may be way off base but I think Sam has great potential! $1000 for lemonade? That would've been awesome to see everyone's face had that happened.

I feel asleep, darn, what happened at the end? :(

The person that got fired was named David (I think). He was the one with the MD degree, and also the one who kept chasing after people like an idiot.

I'm surprised that it wasn't Sam who was fired last night. Thanks for posting that it was David. I thought he'd be the 2nd one.

The last thing I remember last night is looking at the clock at 9:43, so I missed the ending. :(

And as for that woman... I can't remember what her name is, but she is just plain dumb about this "game." Sure, once you're at the top, you can alienate some of your friends, but you can't do it when you're clawing your way up.

The one person I thought that would make a good boss was the black woman. She was quite the counselor to the woman who didn't want to listen. I agreed with her... she tried, but you can't make a rock listen.

I liked this show. I think Sam is *way* over the top and should have gone home last night, but I think he'll bring in ratings and they needed to keep him. David had enough ego for the whole crew and I wasn't sad to see him go. He seemed like a perfect example of someone who is "book smart" but lacks common sense....chasing people down to try and sell to them??? Helloooo!

As for the Donald's apartment...tacky is the only word I can think of. Yikes! Having money does not equate to having class or good taste. But I did laugh out loud when one of the ladies asked his girlfriend-of-the-moment about cleaning the apartment. Yeah, she spends all day shining the marble...come on! :p

Did anyone catch what the asian- American girl said to Trump's GF --- "How do you clean a place this size."

Donald: I don't bring many people to my apartment.

After the tour, we can all see why  .

Although off to a horrible start - once the women starting kissing the men they were selling the lemonade to, it was a given they'd win.....everyone kept saying it last night....sex sells.

From the coming attractions, and perhaps I'm misreading Donald's words but I think next week a woman does go....he says "This is hard to do, but you're fired".....just have a feeling for him, it would be harder to fire a woman.

As far as Sam....I'd be surprised if he got very far.
Don't know her name - and already she's UTR, but the girl selling the real estate seems like a contender.....

I watched thinking I wouldn't really like it and ended up really enjoying it. I was impressed by the whole group of people but I did think Sam was alittle over the top. Did David really think chasing people, jumping up and down was a good idea? I also thought the black women seemed to have it together and would have been a good leader.

I didn't intend to watch this show, and ended up watching it from beginning to end. It was interesting to see the dynamics between the two groups. I'd like to see some of what ends up on the editing floor.

The gal who asked about the cleaning.... I bet she's kicking herself now that that was shown nationally.

Not only can I not STAND Donald Trump, but I was very irritated that they pre-empted regular NBC shows like Will & Grace for it! Putting it on beginning at 8:30 almost "forced" people to watch it, since after Friends, everything else on all other major channels had already begun (hour-long shows).

We ended up going to a cable channel till 9PM. I refused to watch that jerk!

I thought it was funny when one of the girls said to Trump's girlfirend..."You're lucky." Then she replied, "Isn't he?"

My dh turned the channel to watch the Knicks....can anyone tell me in a nutshell (if possible) what happened to the men vs the women during the lemonade sale?

I watched it out of curiosity (sp?) and ended up really enjoying it. I give them all a lot of credit because I can't imagine any of it would be easy to do. I really thought Sam should have gone last night, I just can't stand him and its only been one episode, lol. I think it's going to be a very interesting competition.

The men started out strong and moving quickly on what needed to be done, but they fell apart at the end. Their location was bad, and they couldn't get anyone to buy their lemonade.

The women were a joke at the beginning, totally disorganized and losing track of each other. Once they got their act together, they were able to sell their lemonade at $5 a glass - apparently throwing in a kiss or two to the men who bought some, LOL! They used the "sex sells" strategy to help them quadruple their money, while the men were only able to double theirs.

I really don't care for The Donald but from the previews it looked like it might be good so I watched. I enjoyed the show and thought it was interesting.

I think the reason why Donald fired David over Sam is because Sam may be over the top, but he is dedicated to this experience. David was acting, or giving me the impression, that he was a shoe in and this shouldn't even be a decision...meaning that he believed that he was the only one qualified for the job because of his vast education.

To be honest, when Sam asked him how he could spend that much time in the classroom, I was thinking the same thing! He just didn't seem like he was able to bring his ego down to the level of his teammates.

I think the African-American woman will be around for a while. She knows what she is talking about.

And his apartment....:crazy2:

I didn't watch it but maybe I should have. I hated to get myself involved in a new reality show with Celebrity Mole starting this week, American Idol next week and All Star Survivor in a couple of weeks. Does it look like I have a life? :p

I couldn't believe one of the women suggested "Donald's Darlings" for the corporate name. Agreed, it was probably in jest, but come on! These are supposed to be professional people.

My husband HATED the show and said I can watch it with my 13 yo next time...he wasn't going to waste another night!:o

It is MHO that the apprentice that tells Donald to get rid of the comb over should WIN!
