Would you really want one? I don't think I would.

She seems like a sweetie. I hope she's successful. They kept saying it was a "sneak peak"...is it going to be on E regularly? I really like her. It was so adorable to watch her walking through the park with the teeny little athletic friend of hers.

Do you weigh almost 500 lbs.? Are you trying to lose that 500 lbs. non-surgically? I like honest reality shows...so, I'd give you one. Even if the subject was just you watching paint dry & giving your opinion on the drying quality, color changes, etc.

The weird thing is for most of the show, I truly forgot she was obese. Dh and I just kept commenting on what a beautiful face and eyes she has. There were a couple of times, because of camera angle...that it was apparant Ruby is a big girl. But it was almost like being struck by a wound up towel. Simply because for 10 minutes, we had been mesmerized by her face & that voice. Then the camera angle...snap...ouch.

This is one I'll have to check to see when it's on again. I missed it the first time.
Since I myself am overweight and trying..struggling really..to lose weight nonsurgically, these kinds of things always interest me.

Well no, not 500 pounds. Yeah I thought she was cute too and I admit I'll keep on watching to see how she does.

The thing that brought tears to my eyes (and even dh choked up on) was the nephew. The part where he is allergic to cats, and his parents got a cat, instead of finding the cat a new home, the kid had to find one.

And I love animals. But, geez... I was taking it that they got the cat & then found out the boy was allergic. Dh thought that they knew the boy was allergic and got the cat, anyways. Either way... I just wanted to reach into the set & hug that kid. Tell him, it's okay honey...you come stay with us. But dh made a good pt....we have dogs. Shoe isn't fitting so well on the other foot.

I saw the second half of the episode on E, whenre she was meeting the trainer, getting the food and meeting w/ the shrink for the first time. This was the first episode, right? It actually is being broadcast on the Style Network, so I am hoping E will show the re-runs because I don't get Style.

I saw part of this show for the first time last night. Ruby's friend is an actress named Brittany Daniel. Are they old friends? Does anyone know their connection?

I've only seen the previews, not the actual episode.
I wish her success, she really is a lovely looking woman.

According to Ruby, she and Brittany Daniels have been friends for years, and met when Ruby was living in L.A.

Now I am a Southern girl...I know we don't eat healthy. We tend to look at it as if it can't be battered, fried, covered in cheese, or BBQ sauce...we're not sure we want to eat it. However, I was a little disappointed in Georgia. She was standing over the stove, pouring the butter & cheese to the macaronni...while saying she wants Ruby to lose weight. And then giving the 2 desserts... that about took me over the top.

I really like Ruby. She has a great personality; I hope she is succsessful in her weight loss.

Also I enjoyed seeing my city look so beautiful!

I loved the part when she and her roommate went to the pool for her to excercise. He had to pin her dress up the middle so it wouldn't go up when she got in the water, they were laughing that it looked like a baby onesy and it did look like a onesy. It was the first time she had been in a pool for I think they said 15 years. She has a great attitude I like her.

I watched it and I'm being sucked into another reality show. My DVR works overtime as it is between all of us and our shows!

I think she has a GREAT attitude and is brave to put it all out there on TV like that. I'm A LOT A LOT smaller than her, although I'm pretty overweight, and there is no way in you know where I'd do it.

Southern girl here too. I miss the Southern cooking!

Ruby's voice has that Savannah drawl - very similar to my hometown of Charleston but just different enough to distinguish the 2.

She seems like a sweet person. I like her spunk and hope she is successful in her endeavors! Go Ruby!

If you go to Mystyle.com, you can see a lot of show info. There is a picture of her there and you can tell she has lost a lot of weight, ebven though it's only her face in the pic.

I hope that she is successful in not only losing it, but keeping it off. I can lose all the excess weight I have, but I can not keep it off.

I didn't think I was going to like the show. But she's really a dynamic person and to try and loose all of the weight without surgery is admirable. Worth checking out.
