Anyone want to join my less than one week support group?

Well, in less than one week we hope to be safely in the world. We always go in September and Hurricanes and Tropical weather are expected, but this is bordering on the bizarre! I just can't get into the Disney mode, thinking about all the hardships that these storms have caused. Added to this all the apprehension that Ivan is creating, just can't get that Magical feeling. I spoke to a CM today when I called to reconfirm my reservation and she told me her daughter lost her house during Charley and the CM had major damage to hers during Frances. She was so pleasant in the face of all of her problems, it was amazing. She also told me that locals are starting AGAIN to book rooms for Ivan. Here's praying that everyone stays safe during this trying time.

I'm with you on this one although we have a wee bit more time left before we're there. I worry about all the people in Florida that have put up with this awful weather AND at the same time PRAY that there will be nice calm weather while we're there. I'm having a hard time getting into it as well. On top of all that, my children got a stomach virus last week and of course being the mom I got it too just a few days ago. My parents who are going with us on the trip got it as well. I have a sinus infection to boot and about a gazillion other things popping up all over to worry about! I am driving myself crazy with worry about all this stuff!!! But then I think of all the struggles for the people in Florida and it puts things into perspective.

I hope you have a truly wonderful trip and God bless that CM who was so kind to you even though they are going through some very tough things.

Although I am very concerned for many friends in Orlando, I am selfishly more nervous about our vacation. This is a trip we have been waiting for for some time now. I want to say good luck to all as Ivan approaches, but I hope he's long gone by the time we get there.
