anyone used vera bradley duffle for travel

I used my large duffel last year for a week-long trip to Disney and it fit a week's worth of clothes with room to spare for souveniers. I fit it in the overhead bin on the plane. If it is less filled, it will probably squish in the seat in front of you. The downside to the VB duffel is that it is not the most comfortable bag to carry through the airport IF you have other bags to carry.

This is the main reason that I am getting ready to purchase their Get Carried Away Tote (basically it's a Miller Bag with more pockets and a little different shape). Those straps sliding down from my shoulder running through the airport was not fun

I use the duffel for weekend trips that are in the car or camping. But I wouldn't take it on a flight. I use the weekender for plane travel. They did come out with a larger version of the weekender but a friend of mine said it didn't fit under the chair in front of her and had to be placed in the over head bin. When I fly I carry a small carry on luggage and the weekender as my purse. I've never been asked to check it and it fits 2 outfits, 1 pair of shoes, a swimsuit, laptop, makeup bag and a bunch of other junk. I love the weekender.

This is good to know! I love my weekender but I was considering getting the new bag that is similar because it has the sleeve that can over the handles of a rolling suitcase. The weekender fits perfectly under the seat and I would hate to lose that feature.

I flew Southwest over the weekend and one of my friends used the Vera Bradley Duffle and took it on the plane as a carry on. It fit just fine. It was packed for about 4 days.

My mother, sister-in-law, and I all used our vera bradley duffles as carry ons on an American Airlines flight. They fit perfectly in the overhead compartment. It was also packed for 4 days!

We have two of the large duffles and have used them many, many times as carry on. And they've been stuffed and fit just fine in the overhead compartments on Southwest. We often take one and then pack one just in case I do a little too much shopping while on vacation. We just used them ona 4 day trip to visit our son at college. Packed everything in one but brought the other and we were glad we did.

I have a solution to that problem and don't laugh it worked. I purchased prior to them making the new weekender 1 placement in the same pattern as my bag and took it to a local seamstress and had something very similar to the flap they made except mine has velcro to hold it flat when not used. I'll be pulling it out of storage soon when I do I'll see if I can post a pic so you can see what I mean.

I would love to see a picture!

I love my Vera, I think it's the Grand Traveler. The small duffle is too big for me and not enough compartments. I got another bag originally it was like a carpet bag, I think it was a Weekender, hated it was way too big! I don't like to carry on large bags.
