We will be heading down for our anniversary and I wanted to surprise my wife with a spa treatment. I am wondering if anyone has used the Spa at GF and what your experience was?

I am thinking the aroma bath with massage followed by a manicure for her.

Will this be worth money? Should I come up with another idea? Any help would be great.

Thanks
:)

WOW! Can I be your wife for a day? She'll LOVE it! What a great gift :)

When you book it, specify that you'd like to have TC do her nails--she's the best :)

Your wife should bring a bathing suit, and some basic toiletries, because she'll want to shower after massage before she puts her clothes back on. The aroma therapy bath can be done in her suit or without, whichever she is more comfy with. There's also a sauna and jacuzzi in the locker room that she can use before she starts if she wants.

I get a manicure and pedicure at the GF Spa every time I go to WDW, and have also had massages there.

This is going to sound so very stupid....is wearing a bathing suit optional for a massage??
Also...I've read that you can have information sent to you about the spa services at GF and DI.
Anyone know how to acquire the brochures??
Thanks in advance.

The GF Spa is wonderful and your wife will be thrilled with any of the treatments. :)

Jinnyboom, most folks go "au naturel" with a massage as it is much easier to get a good massage that way and you are totally covered by towels. However, if you are uncomfortable with that you can leave underwear on.

To get a copy of the GF Spa treatments and pricing faxed to you you can call them at (407) 824-2332. :)

My uncle went to the spa and actually talked to Regis Philbin! He said it was very nice and he enjoyed it very much...

You can call 407-824-2332 and they will send you a brochure for the GF spa.

As far as the bathing suit for the massage, you can if you want. Normally it goes like this:

(This is for the GF Spa specifically)

You get to the spa, and are taken to the lounge area. There is a sitting area with soft lighting and new age type music playing, and very comfortable seating. To one side is a door leading into the area with the jacuzzi and sauna, in the other direction is the locker area. off that there is an area with toilets and sinks, as well as a room with a couple showers. (One is a roll-in style for disabled guests.)

You are given a robe and flip flops to wear. If you have arrived early enough you can sit in the jacuzzi or sauna, bathing suits are optional, so don't be suprised to see people in the jacuzzi with no bathing suit on. Usually they do wear a suit, but I have seen them without one. (This is NOT co-ed)

But I digress. You are instructed to put the robe on. If you are having a facial, pedicure, etc., generally you would leave your undies on, but with a massage normally you would take them off. With a pedicure and manicure they genreally don't bother with the robe, unless you are wearing long pants that would get in the way of the foot soak. There are lockers with keys to store your belongings in. You can change in the locker room area, but are also welcome to use a private area in the room with the toilets, or the dressing area by the showers.

Once you're ready you sit in the lounge area, and your therapist will come fetch you.

With a massage, they are generally done with you nude. THey therapist leads you to a private massage room, and instructs you to take off the robe and lie down on the table, and cover yourself with a sheet. Then they leave. They knock before they come back and and make sure you are ready for them. They only uncover the part they are working on, and your chest, buttocks and gential areas are ALWAYS left covered. I'm a very modest person, and have never felt uncomfortable, even with a male massuese, although at the GF Spa I've only had females work on me.

They do want you to be comfortable, and you are encouraged to tell them immediately if you are not cmfortable with your treatment.

After the massage you are taken back to the lounge area where you can relax for a few minutes, then you are welcome to shower and dress at your leisure. Because they cover you in oil, and that includes your scalp, you'll probably want to bring some toiletries with you. They do have some basics such as soap and shampoo (in the GF signature Ruby Red Grapefruit scent :)), and if you go into the dressing/toilet area there is always a can of spray-on deoderant, some Q-Tips, and mouthwash with little cups. There is also a blow dryer or two, and I want to think they also have disposable combs and razors. The bath towels they provide are nice, large, fluffy and absorbant, use as many as you need.

Let me know if you have any other questions. Sorry this is so long.

Thank you Anne!!!

Have not found information as thorough as what you have provided here.....I'm sure it is appreciated by many!!

All your information is extemely helpful. Since this is a surprise for her I will be putting together her bag of "girl" stuff, so it is nice to know what she will need.

Thanks again - :D
