We're thinking about bringing along our walkie talkies on the cruise and I'm wondering if anyone has had any experiences worth mentioning in regards to this?

What kind have you used and how well have they worked?

Thanks!

They worked resonably well. I think there was only one or two times, the whole week, they didn't work. We bought two more for this cruise!

Ours had the sub-channels, and in addition had a scramble feature so other users couldn't hear our conversations. The radios also had a vibrate alert feature for the shows, etc.

My DW and I took ours on the last cruise that we took in October. We have talkies with a 5 mile range and 105 channel options. They work great at the parks. We never have anyone on our channels. We were in a stateroom on the 2nd level and they didn't work well at all through all of that steel and carpet. IF we were two decks away they worked okay but for the most part they didn't work at all. Just static.

We used the Motorola T6330 (?)'s and they worked great as far as no interference etc., but I could never hear what ds said on the stupid things! We finally just utilized the pager from the Lab and it worked great. They can type in quite a message on them!:)

We had the 6220's as well and did not have a problem. The only place I really couldn't use them was on the elevators...From cabin (Deck 2) to pool worked great. Like GoBlueGuy we had the subchannels and there was almost never interference. HIGHLY recommend them.
