Anyone use the Napa room for reception?

We just had our reception in the Napa Room this past Dec 14th but I don't have my pics back yet. However, we had 32 guests plus a dance floor and dj and we had plenty of room to move around and dance. If you want to have a dance floor the max is around 30 but without it you can seat 40-50. The Napa Room was absolutely the perfect choice for us. We like acwinsett had the Heraldsburg dinner but we substitutted the chicken for a pork dish off the restaurant menu and it was to die for! CG!

Someone asked if there was a bigger location at CG for 60 people I think, there is the Sonoma Room but that looks across the lake in the back of CR and it does hold more. You also have the option of using the actually restaurant but I have no idea how that would work. Good Luck!

Thank you!

We brought our own iPod and iPod dock to play music. It was perfectly appropriate for the size of the room. However, you definitely want to find a guest who will be willing to operate it for you.

We had inquired about the cost of a better sound system. They quoted around $400, if I can recall, and our wedding planner actually advised against it due to the small size of the room. We had toasts and speeches with no microphone, and it was no problem.

I was hoping you'd say that, thanks. I really want the napa room for my reception and as its going to cost quite a bit just for the room need to try and keep all other costs to a minimum but didn't want no music in the room

Those of you that brought your own iPod dock, did you ask for a table to set it up or did you place it somewhere different?

the iPod hookup and sound system is pretty decent. However, I do want to say, that we didn't have the harpist or the ipod going the entire time. During the time we didn't, our wedding planner had the house music turned on, so there was never any "dead time." I almost want to say that the iPod isn't even necessary....

Girli565, we have a JBL Sound Dock. It's fairly small but sounds great! We didn't request a table specifically, but did let our planner know that we were planning to provide our own iPod dock. The dock is fairly small, so we didn't have any trouble finding a place to stick it.

Angrypenguin, I LOVE your photos . . . you guys are soooo cute! I found your Flickr site a few months back and was thrilled! You got a great photo of the ravioli, which is my FAVORITE :lovestruc

The California Grill does have the Sonoma Room in addition to the Napa Room, but the Sonoma is smaller than Napa. I know you can use both if you meet the minimums for both, but usually it's pre-reception in Sonoma and then move to the Napa for the reception. The Sonoma room doesn't have a built-in bar . . . they use a portable one. If you have more than 40-50, you'd probably be looking at a restaurant buyout for the main dining area.

I'm so excited to see that there could be some new CG brides and grooms in the works :thumbsup2

In our beo , we got a diagram layout of the room and there was a small table designated for the Ipod near the bar by the exit to the catwalk .:goodvibes

The little round one? I'm looking for one because $250 for an iPod set up is ridiculous.
