Anyone use the dining plan? And enjoy it?

Doing the math now, but seems pretty much not worth it. I know I shouldn't compare to WDW, but Universal's seems pretty limited. We booked a package and it'd be nice to have most things paid in advance. Seems to be better to just save and eat OOP.

We would never do it either. We like the flex ability to do what we want.

buy the UO gift cards online and use them on your darkside vacation.

it would be a prepaid trip then.....
no need to use a cc for any purchase while there.

i buy the gc and use it to pay for the room when i check in.
any other charges i make to the hotel, i cover with gc when i check out.

We tried the full service dining plan last November. It was one sit down meal, one counter service, one snack and one drink per day.

For the most part we really enjoyed the plan. There were several nice restaurants on City Walk that we dined in for dinner. We used our snack credits several times at Cinnabon for breakfast. For the drinks we usually got a couple of bottles of Coca Cola and took them back to our room. I think the only downside was that there were no counter service places on City Walk and being we only had 3 day park to park tickets we were in a bit of a dilemma.

I went to guest services and they gave me a gift card for the counter service we could not use.

Overall it was great. The desserts at the City Walk restaurants were huge and delicious. Food was very good as well.

So I guess you cannot use the dining plan for the counter service places that are in City Walk, such as Moe's and Panda Express?

I have a 9 year old, I saw a few counter service restaurants without the kids menu. What can I order for him? Can I use the kids credits to order the adult from menu?

No there are no counter service places at Citywalk that take the dining plan. (Unless that changes)

I am not familiar with the kids plan as we were two adults.

Every place in the parks takes the full service dining plan.

Full service places that took the plan when we were there was Bob Marley's, Pat O'Briens and an Italian place that I can't remember the name of. Last I looked a few more places have been added to the list.

If they got counter service places on Citywalk I would do it again. It was very easy to use.
