I have lost about 45 pounds using Slim Fast at least once a day, either a shake or a meal replacement bar, but I never see anyone else mentioning this diet..

It is funny that you posted this as I was thinking of posting something very similar. I have been following WW and I enjoy the program very much. However, I am very bored with my breakfast options so I picked up a container of the chocolate Slim Fast yesterday. I was going to have it for breakfast today, however I couldn't wait and made a shake for a snack yesterday. And at 3 points, a nice snack it was.

Congratulations on your success so far, that is a great loss!

Way too much sugar in Slimfast for me. I think it is even one of the first few ingredients listed on the can if I remember correctly. BUT, I heard that Slimfast recently came out with a lowcarb/lowsugar shake to I'll have to check it out.

My SIL recently lost about 20 lbs using Slimfast for 1 meal and Subway (6 grams of fat sandwhiches) for another. It worked very well and quickly for her. I personally think I would STARVE on that plan, but I have to say, she looks fabulous!:earseek:

Congratulations to you! If its working, then keep going! Now I've seen two people with great results from that plan! Maybe I'll try a Slimfast shake for breakfast one of these mornings.

I agree with Wovenwonder. Slimfast has WAY too much sugar in it for me! And, I'd be hungry all the time!

But, everyone's body is different, and reacts in different ways to food. So, if it's working for you - great!! ::yes:: Stick with it!

I would be interested in hearing about the low carb shakes though that Slimfast is coming out with!

I just happen to have a box of Advantage shakes and SlimFast Lo Carb shakes right now. Bought at Sam's Club, Atkins was $20 for 12 cans, SlimFast $15 for 15 cans. Can't tell much difference in the taste, both have sucralose. Advantage has 1 net carb; 170 cal.; 4 g fiber; 20g protein. Slimfast has 2 net carbs; 6g fiber; 190 cal.; 20g protien. Both have 9g fat. I bought them thinking they would be easy in the mornings when I don't have time to cook breakfast. I do get hungry faster than when I do eggs & bacon! Diana

This morning for example.. I had a Slim Fast shake at 8:00 AM, a Kelloggs Nutra-Grain bar at 10:30 and a Slim Fast bar at 12:30 PM... Its 5:00 PM and I am getting ready for dinner and have had only 590 calories... A nice little dinner and I am under my goal of 1300 calories a day..

Just started today actually. Slim fast has a really cool website where you can set up meal plans and even print your grocery list. I think I will need to alter it though because I can't handle their suggestions for dinner. Lots of spinach...which I made tonight and have found that I don't do spinach. I think I will use Slim Fast to replace my daily meals and then have a normal dinner. I will keep my fingers crossed that it would half as good for me as it has for you;)

I bought the Slim Fast Lo Carb shakes to try, at Shoprite today. They were on sale $3.99 for 4. I am going to try the Vanilla tomorrow. I am on Atkins, and generally will use the shakes for breakfast, or as a snack if I have a small breakfast.

I think I have the worlds record for being on slim fast for the longest. I was on slim fast for a total of 2hours. ::yes:: I had a shake for breakfast and two hours later I raided the fridge. :o

Ok funny Slimfast story. My brother usually drinks chocolate but accidently picked up either Cappacinno (sp?) or mocha (one of the coffee ones). I stopped by to ask mom a question a couple days later. She wasn't there but my brother was. He asked if I liked that flavor. Ok I have NEVER liked anything remotely related to coffee. At which point he says " My pee has smelled like coffee for two days now and all I did was drink one can! Don't drink the stuff!":rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: First off I am never really shocked by anything that comes out of his mouth anymore, but I did laugh so hard my sides hurt!! Ok that is my funny story.
My personal favorite flavor is Milk Chocolate:tongue:

I use slimfast for breakfast mainly-otherwise I wouldn't get anything for breakfast because my time is tight in the morning. For lunch I eat a lean cuisine or smart ones entree and salad or soup and for dinner I try and eat sensibly. I have had good luck with slimfast when I stick to it, and with the diet I am on currently I don't feel hungry at all, and ordinarily (pre diet) I ate a LOT of food. Now I work out for at least an hour a day and am on my feet all day at work-constantly going, and the amount that I eat keeps me going all day long and into the night!

Oh and DO STAY AWAY FROM THE CAPPUCINO DELIGHT-I love the taste of it, but seriously it is true your pee and poop will smell like cappucino almost immediately.

A long time ago I tried a Slim fast shake out of the can. It was at my mom's house and it was good and cold out of the fridge. After one taste I declared,"Hey, that stuff tastes great!! It would be even better with a burger and fries!" :p It's no wonder I have a weight problem.

Wal~Mart has a drink that is very much like slim-fast. I believe it has even less cards and sugar if I remember right. I must say that I personally like the taste of the wally world drink much better. Slim fast always seemed to have an after taste to me and the Wal~Mart brand doesn't. The price is much better too! Good luck!

Believe it or not my very slim competitive runner son and his very slim competitive runner roommate drink Slim Fast to ADD calories to their diets. They love them because they are a great balance of high energy carbs and stuff and they can drink them close to a race and not throw up. It has made it very difficult for me to take them seriously as a weight loss product however.

When I was younger, I had enlisted in the Air Force but failed the physical because I didn't weigh enough (oh those were the days), so my recruiter had me drink like 3 shakes a day on top of eating my normal food. Didn't work then to gain weight, hopefully it will work the opposite for me now.

I tried Slim Fast two summers ago and I actually gained weight while on the diet :( It wasn't until I talked to a friend who told me that it's just a sugared drink with vitamins. Oh well, live and learn :p I'm glad that it does work for some people though.

NEW - Slim Fast Low Carb Ready to drink beverages!

Now you can have the convenience of the Slim Fast plan but still have it be a 'healthy' plan! I, for the life of me, can't understand why anyone would choose the original drinks when this new low carb one is now available.

For comparission both of these are the 'chocolate' variety of ready to drink Slim Fast shakes -

Original - 220 Calories
Energy is coming from SUGAR
34 grams of SUGAR!
only 10g of Protein

NEW Low Carb Version - 190 Calories
only 2g of Sugar
Energy comes from the healthy PROTEIN
20g of Protein

YUCK. I tried one today and didn't like it at all. I don't mind the Atkins shakes, but I didn't like the flavor of this one. It was vanilla.
