Need Some Help & Advice

My Dd & Myself Are Meeting My Dsil, Niece & Nephew (they Are Flying Standby My Sil Works For Airline) TWO NIGHTS Before The Cruise In Orlando. I Am Leaving From Ny, They Are Leaving From Jersey. We Are Going When All Of Nj Is Going For Teachers Convention In November.

From Reading These Threads, I Think The Best Plan Would Be Stay At An Airport Hotel, With Free Shuttle & My Sil Can Meet Up With Me, At The Hotel.

The Next Morning Have The Shuttle Take Me Back To The Airport For Our Rent A Car.

I Have Never Used Priceline, FOR A HOTEL, But Would Be Willing To Try. Any Advice On How To Use It????

Do You Think This Is A Good Plan???

We Are Going On A 3 Day Cruise.
Arriving On A Tuesday Night USE PRICELINE HOTEL & MEET UP THERE.
Wednesday Rent A Car & Magic Kingdom
Wednesday Night Staying At The Radididson,
Thursday Free Shuttle To Port Leave Rent A Car At Raddisonn
Sunday Pick Up Car & Head To Sheridan Vistana For Swimming & Fun Leaving Late Sunday Night Flight.

Any Advice For Above???

Thanks

Patricia

we used priceline for our hotel near the airport I bid 50.00 and got the Holiday Inn Select on TG Lee Blvd only minutes from the airport. Read the bidding for travel web site it helps explain alot. We flew in on friday night then sat morning took the shuttle back to the airport to get the rental car. We checked out sunday morning drove to the port and dropped off the car.

your plan looks good if you are getting a really good rate on the rental car.
We paid 49.00 for a van from Avis on sat morning and dropped off the next day....Avis has a shuttle to the port. Shuttled back to Avis from the port picked up another car dropped off at MCO for 60.00

hope this helps

We've used priceline a couple of times to stay in the airport area. Stayed at the Marriot (I think) the first time and Sheraton Suites the second time. Both were under $40.

Check out biddingfortravel.com for info on what hotels are coming up lately and the prices. No reason to overbid if you can get them even cheaper!

If you want to use priceline look at the website www.biddingfortravel.com. It a great website where people post which hotels they "won". The quality of the hotels....etc....

I've used priceline two times at the airport for before cruise stays....

We got the Airport Marriott both time for under $43 (our bid was in the $30's but 43 after priceline fees.) A real bargain considering regular rates for this hotel are 3-4x that amount.

It is a great hotel with nice shuttle, indoor/outdoor pool. Their room service was expensive. Being without a car, we ended up ordering pizza and wings for under $20 from a local place in the phone book. It was good.

My husband used priceline right after the hurricanes and got the Holiday Inn Express. (It was OK. He likes the Marriott better though)

I Got The Rent A Car From Priceline Today For 17.00 A Day, For An Economy Car.

I Went To The Website I Tried To Get A Hotel, At Priceline, & It Wouldn't Take For 50.00

When Should I Try Again?

You should be able to get an MCO area hotel at the highest star level for no more than $28 to $38 unless something big is going on. DO NOT bid a lower star level; most of the hotels are good, but there is one LaQuinta that is a real slum and we got stuck there three times before we started bidding the highest level only. We usually end up at the Marriott but have also gotten the Holiday Inn Select and the Renaissance.

priceline works best when you are within a month of your travel dates......

I just noticed that you're not travelling until November so that would be why it isn't accepting your ressie yet at that price or lower.

In the meantime I would have a back-up ressie that can be cancelled at the cheapest hotel you would accept if priceline didn't work out. Amerisuites sometimes has decent rates if you go directly to their website or call them directly. ($65-70 ish range) There are two north of the airport but one is closer.

I could tell it was the Embassy Suites (it said all suite hotel, so good guess). I paid $115, good for ES, and it was GREAT! I have heard that hotels give crappy rooms to those who book on cheap sites, but I have always been pleased!
Happy cruising!

I have used Hotwire many times too, and between them and Priceline, I have never found much of a difference in rooms given to internet bargain hunters. :) The only two differences I noticed is that it's almost always a connecting room (although we've never had a noise problem), and once the Marriott did not have any non-smoking rooms left so the Priceline people have to take what's available. But I am VERY fussy about smoke odors, and I did not have any problems in that room.

Hi Guys,

"will Take Your Advice" & Wait Closer To The Date.

I Was Surprised To Get Hertz For 17.00 A Day, Thru Priceline.

Thanks For All Of The Great Advice.

Maelcu What A ~stunning Family Photo~ Did Disney Cruise Line Do This?

Does anyone know how to get the Hyatt! I really want to stay there, and want to bid..but don't know if they participate with Priceline!? Also, how much should I bid?

You cannot pick your hotel with Priceline, so you must be wiling to take any of the 3 star hotels in the Airport area. I couldn't get a hotel for our 2/18 night before our cruise, so we ended up at our back-up the Amerisuites. I was impressed with both the room and the breakfast the next morning. They had eggs and waffles!

I will take your advice, & keep bidding until it is close to my date.

I do have a back up, for 89.00 just incase I can't get priceline.

I am going to try a 3* Airport for hopefully about $50.00
Hopefully, Holiday Inn or Mariott Airport Renaissance, Hyatt, Sheraton, or Crowne Plaza

I no this sounds crazy, but I am having fun bidding. I will post if & when I get a good price.

Thanks for your help & advice

Patricia

Last fall we used Priceline to get the Airport Marriott for $50. Couldn't beat it. I'd also recommend keeping your eye on the bidding for travel site as it will tell you the hotels that are being booked and the prices that are being accepted.

fourfoxesinpa, that is a great price.

I am hoping to do the same, but it will not accept 50.00

I am in no hurry, & will try once a week or twice a week till Nov. (I do have a back up)
