I know in the beginning of the summer there were lots of talks about how Photopass changes. Has anyone been there in the last few weeks and what was your experience?
-Were there lots of photographers around?
-Could you do photo enhancements to the CD there?
-Or did you just order from home so you didn't have to pick it up there?
-Where did you view your pics/get your CD?

TIA for any info. I am going in 20 days (YIPEE!!) and would like to have the most up-to-date knowledge so I can make the best decision for my family.

We used PhotoPass in April this past year. Will never use it again. Pictures were awfull. Pictures color was bad among other things. It was a waste of money. Bring a camera, you will get better results from someone taking a picture of you.

A Pirates Life For Me pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate:

I used it in January and loved it. I bought the cd. i was there for 4 days and had 100 pictures taken. There were quite a few around the icons. The only place we had trouble finding one was at Epcot.
you can't do photo enhancements but I did them when I download the photos onto my computer.
we viewed all of our images from the GF on our last day and bought the cd there.

to avoid getting "bad" pictures we made sure to have several pictures made at icon. sometime at the same time from a different photographer.

we used in Feb and loved it. Plus it was a life saver as our camera was taken/lost and we lost many of our own pictures. We got the CD too and it's great!

We used it in January & got some great pictures!! We ordered lots of 5X7s & 8X10s.

Used it again in May & got lots more great pictures!! This time, we bought the CD also.

I used the photopass in May.

We ended up with about 45 photos. I made sure that everytime I did see a photopass photographer that we got a picture, but I never went out seeking a photographer. I also made sure that we all got the picture we wanted. I went with my fiance, and my soon to be MIL, and if she wanted a picture alone, I asked the photographer to take it. If I wanted a picture with just my fiance, I asked for that too.

We bought the CD from the photo place at Downtown Disney on our last day there. It was in the scrapbooking store. There was no option to doing the photo enhancements on the CD.

Hope this helps!

We were there last week of June and got 72 pictures on the CD for $99. There are no enhancments on the CD. If you purchase the CD you can still look at the pictures at home off the internet and add the enhancements at that time for 30 days and the enhancements don't cost anything additional...just the cost of the picture. It took one week to get the pictures I purchased back by US Postal Service.

We got pictures taken in front of the Tree of Life and Animal Kingdom entrance at AK, Mickey's Hat on Hollywood Blvd and Tower of Terror at DS, Castle from Main Street USA in MK, and SSE at Epcot. In addition there were photographers at Epcot Character Connection, County Bounty in Toontown, and various character gretting locations at DS including under the big hat. I'm guessing they also had photographers at Camp Minnie/Mickey greeting area but we never made it back there. A cast member at County Bounty told me they are trying to hire an additional 300 photographers so they can be at more locations.

We viewed our pictures at County Bounty in Toontown and was pretty painless. I think we waited 5 minutes and it took 5 minutes to burn the CD. We had two cards because DW and I would split up with one of the kids from time to time. Give them all of your cards and they will put them on one CD.

When we go again, I will have them take our picture with their camera and hand them mine to take one too. Then before I leave I will look at them and decide if I want to spend the $99 for the cd. Chances are unless I had $99 burning a hole in my pocket I wouldn't buy the CD again. I will purchase pictures at home off of the internet with the enhancements again.

Of the 72 pictures we had on our CD, the majority are pictures with the characters. We had family pictures taken at Epcot Character Connection with Minnie, Mickey, Chip & Dale, Donald, Pluto, and Goofy which took maybe 20 minutes total. Of course we all have the same clothes on and same or similiar pose in each picture so they all kind of look the same except the different character.

Also keep in mind that while we had 72 pictures, they usually take 2 or 3 at each location (one might be vertical in front of Tree of Life and other horizontal, etc) so we really only had 24 to 36 locations with 2 or 3 poses in each.

When we got home I purchased 6 5x7's with enhancements and got one free 5x7 with our package. The enhancements are cool because if you get your picture with Mickey you can add Mickey's signature. I bought the kids each a picture with their favorite character and added the signature and will frame them and let them put them in their room for a memory of the trip.

Is it common place to ask the photographers to take pictures with your own camera? It seems a little surprising that they would be willing to do that. It would be great though because I would never actually buy the cd.

they will take a picture with yours as long as you let them take a picture with theirs.

Where online can you buy the cd of the photopass pictures. I found a link on another thread wasn't sure if it was correct. Also, is this reputable? It says they give you a paper on copyright which allows you to print at stores like Walmart. does anyone know if this is true?

We used it last week and were pleased with the pictures. We didn't find out about it until we had been there a couple of hours. wish we would've known about it sooner.

We were there just two weeks ago and photopass seemed the same as it has been for our past several trips. I always look at my photo online and play around with them which enhancements I'd like to get. I never seem to accumulate more than 25 photopass pictures during one trip so I don't buy the cd. Even of the 15 - 25 pictures only a few I actually order.

ok, please tell me about this.. I am going in 2 weeks and never knew about this.. is there an obligation? can you pick and choose the ones you want. how much are they if you buy them individually...

enquiring minds want to know

We didn't use the photopass because I didn't know anything about it but I was taking a picture of my DD in Epcot and the photographer offer to take for me because I was having a tough time getting her and Epcot over the ball centered the way I thought it should be. His was really the same as mine but it was nice that he offered. Ifelt bad because I didn't have any $$$ to tip him.

Nope, no obligation. You will see photopass photographers in and around the parks dressed in khaki shorts, vests and straw hats to identify them. As others have said they are usually stationed at all character greeting locations as well as the icons in each park. (A great spot for a pic with the castle is on the bridge into Tomorrowland where there is a little alcove that frames the castle perfectly and does a great job of hiding the crowds). Anyway, the first time you get one taken they will give you a credit card type card (in appearance only) and you will give it to each photographer prior or after getting them to take your photos. At the end of your trip you can either purchase a CD with all of the photos on it or you can view them on the internet from home where you can add logos and signatures to the pictures. Its very easy to use and pretty convenient. They will also be more than willing to take a photo with your own camera (we always do this) since theres are pretty expensive.
