Anyone use Hotwire for car rental lately?

Just looked on Hotwire and can get a compact (just DH and me, so size doesn't matter) for $9.95/day. Any ideas what company I might get at that price? Are all of them "on airport" (Alamo, Budget, Hertz, Avis, National). What has been your experiences with Hotwire??

We have used Hotwire twice. Both times we got Avis. If you use Hotwire or Priceline print the confirmation and take it with you. We had no problems or issues.

If you are renting from Hertz try 1757580 CDP discount code - it's from car and driver. If you are renting from Avis, try C031529 AWD discount. Both of them offers outstanding discount.

Well, that would certainly be the cheapest rental yet!!

We've used Hotwire for a car rental in Austin and got Hertz. The rate was at least $50 lower than any other website (per week)and we won't hesitate to use them again.
P.S. We also use them for hotels and get 3-star places for @$46-49/night, although I wouldn't go below the 3-star level.
So far, we've been extremely pleased with them (even though I don't like paying up front ).

I used priceline for my last car rental as well as two hotel stays. I was very happy with priceline- same agencies as hotwire, but you get to name your price- you get to rebid in 72 hours- I would go at least 30% less than hotwire- same deal you find out at the end what agency you get- I had my rental with Avis and was happy....I did not have to stand in line with everyone else in the cheaper internet rate line (San Fran) My hotels I was happy with the rate. I just stayed in Minneapolis this past weekend for $50 a night at a crowne plaza- I think I actually overbid this one. I will always try priceline or hotwire from now on in regards to renting a car. No coupons could touch what I got my car rental for in San Francisco.

Can someone tell me, can I 'bid' a car thru hotwire and guarantee the location as one one the Disney Car rental locations? ie...car care place or Dolphin?

When I tried it just showed me MCO airport locations.
