Anyone use google voice?

I've been trying for months to get a google voice invite and was wondering if anyone had a spare invite they would care to share and what your thoughts are on the service in general?

if anyone has a invite Id greatly appreciate it, I figure it would be a cheap way for me to be able to call back home.

I use the service and love it. The main reason I like it is perfect number portability and the ability to keep my actual phone numbers out of the public. I also love that they use voice recognition to send me a text of any voice mail that is left.

The only thing to keep in mind is that if you are using it to keep your number private and you return a call using the cell phone and don't route the call through the service your cell phone number will come up on the caller ID instead of being hidden or the Google Voice number coming up.

I've got an android based phone and all indications from what I have been reading seem to show that it works great with Android and as long as I have a unlimited data plan (which I do) I can use it to make and get calls right from my cell phone.

Yes, Android runs Google Voice so well you'd think it was developed by the same company or something.

I'm hoping there is a fellow DISer out there who can help me out.

I stumbled across the info on Google Voice this morning and it looks like just what I'm looking for. I currently carry three cell phones with me (long story) and hate it. Google Voice will solve that problem for me.

But, I need an invite. I signed up at google.com but have no idea how long it will take for them to get to me on the list of requests.

Does anyone have an invite they can spare? I would greatly appreciate it. Just pm me and I'll send you my e-mail address.
