We are renting a car for the first time and found the best price through is company located at the MCO terminal. We need a minivan since MIL and FIL will be with is and we are also going to need car seats - it said there may be additional fees due at the time of pick up and did not include a price for the car seats - any info would be great!!!

Call and find out what the price is... Or be prepared to have it "stuck to you" Often these extras are where all the profit is.

Personally I won't use anyone that's not a "national" brand. I have heard enough horror stories to RUN!

Try priceline a day or 2 before you leave. I always bid $22 bucks for a minivan and have always gotten it from National.

I think during low times, they decide to rent what they have (something is better than nothing).

I always have a backup rental in place, when my bid is accepted, I cancel other reservation.

I've rented with EZ rentacar. I didn't have any problems, but the lines were long & they were asking everyone for proof of insurance from home. Luckily I had brought that with me. They weren't on-site at the terminal though. You needed to take a shuttle to get there. Perhaps they've changed it since I rented with them 2 yrs. ago. Good luck.

From what I've read on their web site (or heard when I called them) they are the sister company of L&M rental Car. We've rented from L&M many times and never had a problem except for a smokey car once.

I have read reviews and it made me make ressies with DME just in case since the other rental car companies are charging $1,000 for the week we need. We are also renting a minivan.

They are now located in the terminal.

I TRIED to rent with L&M once. They refused to take my credit card as primary insurance. I didn't want to give them the personal as I don't want a claim on my car insurance. That was fight one.

Fight two was when they tried to give me a tiny car as a "Full Size" When I pushed the agent told me "it's a full size this week" (It was President's Day week...) In other words the "upgraded" the car size LOL!

I walked. I had a back up at Hertz!

If you have kids, you'll want to stick with a company in the terminal just for ease. There are a lot of discount codes out there. We tried a bunch until we found one that worked. You can take your car seats from home. Not sure how all airlines handle, but Continental does NOT charge the excess bag fee for these. They put them in a big plastic bag and put them with the luggage. Not sure if you're talking booster seats or regular, but you can also take them on the plane. Kids can seat in forward facing seats- boosters not allowed in plane seats, must go in the overhead bin.

If you don't want to take yours, check out the rental companies in Orlando, as you may get a better rate. They have strollers, cribs, car seats, monitors etc. They will deliver to your hotel or come to the airport (so you can get the car seats) for a small additional fee. I'm guessing it would still be cheaper that renting from the car place (and I'm assuming a nicer, cleaner seat as well).

Who you flying with. I just bought my flight from Southwest and using there site I got a great deal from alamo. I am payin 440 for 2 weeks (compact) were on other sites for alamo it was 720. It was like getting one week free:cool1: To get this rate I will have to show them a plane ticket / boarding pass that shows that I flew within 24 prior to pick up. They are in terminal. EZ was about 40 cheeper for me but I went with known name

So in short check your airlines site to see if they can get you a good deal.

good deal.

I always fly Southwest if it's going to my destination. I have not had to show a Southwest ticket within 24 hours to pick up a car rented through them in years. I know they used to require this, but I don't think it's required any more.

Southwest's website for rental cars is really easy to use, and you can input coupon codes.

I rented from EZ a few years ago and did not have any particular problems, except that they were very slow and disorganized. But we saved about $100 for a week in a midsize.

Just rented from them 2 weeks ago, no problems. They were in the terminal. Find their website as I was able to get an additional discount (I think it was 5-10%) by joining some free club and booking through their website. I've also rented from them in the past at MCO.

We took DME to and from airport. Was great as they took care of all luggage and delieverd to room. Just make sure if you need anything to take a carry on with that stuff with you.

We got to OKW & I had an existing reservation with Enterprise I think they were located at the Carribe Royale resort. As they commercial says, "We will pick you up." Just met them at the bus drop off out front of OKW lobby. It was significantly less then renting at airport and not having to mess with lugage was GREAT!!!

So this is something you might want to look into.

We do the same thing, except we rent from the Alamo at the Dolphin. It's a quick walk from either BCV or BWV which makes it very convenient if you're staying there.

DH and I rented from them in mid December. I was still waiting for the luggage and he had already checked in. We just went across the street for pick-up.

I got a great rate by booking Car X. It was reported to be either a mid size, full size, van or SUV.

We got a surprise when we ended up with a 5 speed manual transmission :rotfl: What the heck???? I have never seen that before in a rental car, but since we drive one normally it was not an issue except the funny location for reverse. Car was clean, got great gas mileage and we had no issue!

We just rented from them in Denver this week. We had an x-car rented and got a 4WD Jeep Cherokee. We paid $70 total for 5 days. The cheapest rate we could find for an SUV was around $180.
