Anyone use dining plan at the Pepper market?

We were just at Disney 4/15-4/23 ::MickeyMo We stayed at Coronado Springs and used the MYW plan at the Pepper Market. The food was very good, portions generous, and there were no $ limits for the counter service. You get dessert too! Have fun eating!

Another poster said they couldn't "get their monies" worth at the Pepper Market. Did they exclude some of the more expensive menu items?

We were the first to use it there! :Pinkbounc We loved it. Our family of four each got a meal, drink and dessert, everything was included. Our only regret was that we never made it back a second time.

Thanks. I too was wondering about that other post who didn't get their monies worth. I hope we're able to get the more expensive items on the menu...If we choose.

winnie77 posted it under a thread called new restaurants on dining plan. Sorry I am so computer illiterate that I don't know how to quote or connect you with that thread. If you enjoyed the Pepper Market, then I'm sure it's fine. I plan on at least one meal there and possibly a breakfast or two depending on how many CS points we have.

My DH just showed me how to copy that post. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=800343&page=6&pp=15

I can't comment on the dining plan, but when my family of 5 adults stayed at CSR 1½ years ago we ate at Pepper Market probably half a dozen times and everything was very good. I think we tried food from every counter and had no complaints. We only did breakfast once, but because it was late fall and the parks were closing earlier, we came back to the hotel and ate there nearly every other night. They even let my aunt and grandma split a bowl of soup (in two bowls).

Thanks. Too bad Winne didn't share exactly what the problem was.

When we ate there I believe our lunch totaled $45 (and there was no extra 10% charge; at least none that we had to pay for out of pocket). It was a ton of food and I thought they were very flexible on some of our items (like some extras on my salad that weren't supposed to be included and a piece of bread too). I wouldn't worry about it if you're thinking of getting the MYW Dining Plan.

I pm'd Winnie after her initial post, as I, too, was very curious about the specifics; I don't think she would mind me sharing her reply with you all:

"When it comes to breakfast there they don't give you what you are paying for. We went to the Tusker house in Animal Kingdom one day. We ordered the eggs combo plate. It included eggs, sausage or bacon, homefries, a biscuit and a drink. So we ordered that. then the cashier asked us would we like a danish or a cinnaminon bun. We said is that included in our plan she said yes it is like a dessert we said sure and ordered 3 buns and one danish. (it was my husband and I and our 2 kids) The food was wonderful and we were very full. At pepper market if you tried to get anything extra like a danish or bun you would have to pay for it. Another example of what they do is. I ordered a waffle on day with a side of bacon and got a hot cup of tea. When we got to the cashier she told us that we would have to pay for the bacon. I told her about the tusker house and she told me that every resturant was different and the bacon would be extra. I ate the food so I had no choice but to pay for it. Which wasn't a problem but it just made my husband and me very angry that we weren't get our monies worth out of that place. If you have any other questions email me."

I also called Pepper Market yesterday and spoke with one of the managers about any potential "selection parameters" that might have recently been put in place. His explanation about the breakfast choices pretty much confirmed Winnie's description (but, IMO, dining plan cs breakfast offerings at most of the participating venues come across as rather limited when compared to non-breakfast offerings at same places....). He also told me that at any other time of dining, there are no restrictions, and, yes, you can get that grilled rib-eye! However, he said that dessert choices are "limited to a cookie or muffin, because that is all that Disney allows on cs"--this is the one thing I find a little hard to believe as accurate, and certainly peculiar given that the $ entree item isn't restricted! :confused3 ....Also haven't read any trip reports from Dis'ers indicating dessert restrictions at other cs venues, so go figure. Best bet is just to ask the server at the PM dessert station and go with that response-of-the-moment (IMO, cs dessert not worth making an issue over).

Hopes this helps. Now, if only WDW could answer what the caveat applies to regarding "surcharge" for Wolfgang Puck and Planet Hollywood. Apparently it's still "being discussed." It is absurd that they would re-print the brochure and not have a clue! Both Guest Services and restaurant(s) are in the dark. :confused3 Crazy-making.

Thanks TT. I can see Winnie's point. We won't be eating breakfast there unless I see that CS portions are so large that my DDs 2 and 5 can share from my DS and my meals. We may have enough credits to eat breakfast there once. When we eat lunch there, I'll have to be sure to ask at the dessert stastion what they include, so we don't have to pay.
