Anyone use Bare Minerals Escentuals products?

It has been almost 5 years since I switched but I remember doing this comparison. I couldn't even bring myself to apply it once I got it out of the bottle. :rotfl2: NEVER again!

I have to agree. I've only been using it for two months but last week I tossed out the liquid I'd been keeping around. I love this make-up! It feels like I'm not wearing make-up at all, yet it improves the look of my skin quite noticeably. Yes, it is pricey but definitely worth it.

gnbuggy....your friend who has the flaking. Does she have oily skin at all. That may be the reason why her make up is flaking off. If she uses an eye cream or is oily it may not be adhering to her skin. Just a thought.

For the B.E. Experts -

I was researching for my upcoming trip and discovered BE products to be use in FL sun. I went to Ulta and bought the starter kit yesterday. I tried it on this morning and like it. I realized the burshes Ulta Kit come with are different from the Sephora's starter kit. I was kicking myself for not wanting to travel another 20 minutes to Sephora store. My question is in order to have the full coverage Kabuki Bursh and Skin Rev-upper (like to Sephora's kits offer), is that more cost efficient to get a 2nd kits than just buy the brush? I don't mind having two Flawless Application Brushes. I can use one brush for warmth and the other for foundation and Veil.

Can someone tell me the difference between Full coverage kabuki brush and handi buki Brush (that offer at Ulta's kit)? And what products do you use handi buki Brush for? Thanks a lot!

when ulta had the starter kits on sale i bought two. i think it is definitely worth it to have the extra around and if you can get a buki brush with yours then DO IT! :) i still haven't gotten one because i just can't bring myself to pay $28 for a brush!

Just to let everyone know Bare Escentuals is going to have a TSV on November 11. Included are going to be bisque/well rested in one containter. Feather light minerial veil(eyeshadow size), pure radiance all-over face color (eyeshadow size), eye glimpse in Peacock, eyeshadow in pure spice, Buxom lips lip gloss, big tease mascara, feather light brush, eye defining brush, maximum-coverage brush and peacock expandable bag for $49.98 s/h 4.97.

Has anyone tried the ELF brushes with their BE? I have some Sonya Kasiuk ones that I like, just ordered some ELF ones.

I have a kubuki and dont care for it. I think its the fact there is no real handle taht bugs me. Just not comfortable in my hand. I would love the Handy Buki but hate to pay that.

I just rec'd the starter set and fell in love with it! DD (18) also loves it and I'm sharing with her. She can use the lightest foundation and I use the darker of the two. A friend had extra mineral veil and warmth so I bought them from her for DD. I tried the new Avon mineral foundation today and it didn't even compare. Too grainy and the lightest shade was really dark. I'm going to stick with the Bare Minerals.

Sorry I didnt get back to you on this (im kinda flaky sometimes, in a different way. )
I asked her the same question. And she said no. If she uses water with the liner shadow it ends up on her lid. Which would mean oily lids right? So she tried weather everything, and gets flaky later in the day. I think its really weird. I want to see her apply it. Maybe too much product? Sorry again about the delay.

gnbuggy: don't worry! I was just trying to figure out why it doesn't work on her. Everyone's skin is so different you just never know. I hate paying money for stuff I can't use either! lol

Bumping! I just got on the minerals makeup bandwagon, only someone in another thread turned me onto Everyday Minerals brand makeup instead. You can order a free sample kit of your own customized colors (pay only $3.65 in shipping.) I'm waiting for mine to arrive. :cheer2: They are so much cheaper the BE, and got better overall reviews at the http://www.makeupalley.com website, even though less people have reviewed it.

There's the link to the other DIS thread here about it:
Have any of you ladies tried "Everyday Minerals" makeup

I would like to try the Bear Minerals items but I'm allergic to a couple of ingredients that a lot of makeups have in them. I tried looking on their website for an ingredients list but couldn't find it. Could someone look at their mascara and other items and let me know if any ingredients that end in paraben are listed? Some examples are: methylparaben, ethelparaben and propylparaben. Thanks so much!
CindyBeth, Everyday Minerals says it only has 4 all natural ingredients:
Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxide, Zinc Oxide :thumbsup2

Has anyone tried the ELF brushes with their BE?

I have a bunch of the E.L.F. brushes I got from the dollar store. They have one kabuki style brush. Some people reviewed it as being scratchy. Having never bought a $20 brush before, I don't know. It works for my purposes of applying and buffing regular powder makeups. They wash well without losing hairs.

I'll let you know how it works with the minerals makeup - although, again, I have nothing to compare it to as I've never even tried minerals makeup before. :confused3

I think I'm going to stop into Sephora for a BE demo. :cool1:

has the best prices/selections!:thumbsup2

I am anxious to try BE since reading this, and other, threads. My skin is extremely sensitive and I'm beginning to get a rosecha(?) type redness. Hopefully that will keep it toned down.

I too have sensitive skin and am red on my cheeks, nose and chin. Don't know if it's rosacea, but the BE is great for evening it out. I use the concealer brush first on my red areas, then all over buffing with the kabuki brush. NO problems, I love this stuff. I now get compliments on having "great skin". I just smile and say "thanks" if it's someone I don't know well. The truth is I have great foundation.

Thanks My2Cinderellas! The redness and sensitivity were my biggest concerns. I'm going to try to get to the Ulta store this weekend and use my 20% off coupon for a starter kit. :goodvibes

I have to tell you my Bare Minerals story..I've been dying to try the line, and at the mall they have a store there, so I went in looking around and the lady asked me if I ever tryed it, and I so no, but I would love to. So she proceeded to do a makeover on me and told me everything that she was using..Well.. I hate to tell you what I looked like when I walked out:scared1: I felt like I had TONS of make up on, and my face started itching. I couldnt wait to get home and wash my face. When I got home my DH looked at me and wanted to know why I put on so much make up! :rotfl: He thought I actually walked out of the house looking like this. I told him that I went to the mall and tried this new line that was suppose to be so great..well, he made sure I never did that again! Seriously, I looked like I was wearing so much make up! I always thought you were suppose to look natural? The eye shadow was fine, it was the foundation and stuff they put on my face. I don't know if she didnt know what she was doing or what, never the less I will never use Bare Minerals. Sorry to all you who like it, I wish I could say that I did! It looks so fun to put on and easy too. I guess it's not for me.
