Anyone use Bare Minerals Escentuals products?

Well, I have plenty of Spackle still, so it will take a while to go through all of that.

However....
I know that it sounds really strange, and some people go ECHHHH when I mention it, but try this: http://www.soothingcare.com/soothingcare/request_sample_buffer.htm

Believe it or not, it's got the same ingredients as Smashbox Photo Finish, and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. And it works great!!

Don't shoot me......

Although some have already guessed!

Don't knock it 'til you've tried it!

Okay, now I am going to have to try this, especially since I didn't particularly like that product for what it is designed for originally and was wondering what the heck I was going to do with a full tube of the stuff! :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Ok, I am so confunded... is it the Gel or the talc power from Monostat that you are using, Flower?
Also- no idea about the BE Boutique... give me a holler' with info, please... or let Bobdear know for me...

It's the POWDER GEL, and it works great!

The Orlando BE Boutique is doing a National Makeup Artist event on the weekend of October 21-22. It's a great way to get lots of application tips from the pros, and fine tune areas that you want to get extra help with.

If I couldn't get an appointment, I was going to go down anyway- just to watch and learn more.
I got one though- and I'm really excited to see what is going to be done with my mug this year!

You could always call if you're interested to see if there are any openings left.
Go here: www.bareescentuals.com and look for EVENTS.

OK, so do you just smooth the gel over your face and let dry and then apply your make-up as usual? I haven't used a primer before and just started using the mineral make-up so I had to ask. Thanks!

Cathy

Cathy-

Honestly, I just take a little out of the tube and put a dot on my cheeks, chin, forehead and the bridge of my nose.

Then I pretend I'm putting moisturizer or cleaner on my skin, and it smoothes everything out. It dissolves into your skin, so there's no waiting really. If you do moisturize first, let your application dry, then put on the powder gel.

Do your usual pre-makeup dressing, and your face should be ready! I have mild rosacea, so I like to make sure that my 'blotches' are covered.

Even if you decide you don't like it- you didn't spend much, but I hope you'll like the results.

Good Luck!

Not to change the subject but(I am) has anyone tried the "rare minerals" I'm so curious as to what anyone thinks.

Thanks!

I actually use the Southern Magnolia Minerals and I love them. If you go to southernmagnoliaminerals.com you can look at there products. I usually buy them through the ebay site. They are very reasonable.

Yep, I do. I'm not a big makeup person, in fact I used to never wear it. I've gotten into BE and although I still don't put it on on a daily basis, when I go out somewhere(dinner, etc.) I wear it and feel totally comfortable in it. To me, it dosen't feel like I have anything on my face. HTH

Love your siggy picture! Your family is adorable. Your oldest daughter's smile is GIGANTIC! Think she was happy to be there? Just a little bit? :teeth:

I''ll have to check the website out. Thanks!

Oh, BE is going to be on QVC tomorrow!

Thanks to whoever posted about the try me price BE kit on QVC. I recieved it the other day and I have to say I love this stuff. I'm looking forward to trying more of their products.

I have a question about liner shadow.
A friend has trouble with it flaking off. She has used water and weather everything and gets the same result. I use water and have never had any problems. We have 4 girls working on this issue and cant figure out why she has this problem. any suggestions would be nice. ;)

I use it and like it okay but it makes such a mess on the sink in the morning. Ineed to wear a LOBSTER BIB when I put it on so it does not go on my clothes. I find it really messy. Is it just me?

It sounds like you are using too much. This truly is a less is more product. Use very little at a time and then if you feel you need more coverage go over it again. The mess on the sink is also a sign of too much on the brush.

No that is not the case what is happening is that when I go to open the container it has fallen out of the shaker part and there is too much in the lid. This has happend when it is stored not when I am using it. Trying to manuvere it back into the sharker side or clear the lid is a really messy problem. I use very little as the video suggests. I do not know if the holes in the shaker are too big or what.

I try not to take the whole sticker off of the jar when it's new. I cut it so only a couple of holes are open.

I guess everyone figures out their own way.
I tap the lid of the closed jar before I unscrew it to apply. 90% of the time, the lid has just the right amount in it for me to swirl my brush in and apply! The harder you tap the lid of a closed jar, the more mineral powder is on the lid when you unscrew it, so tap lightly.... If I find there is too much powder in the lid, I just screw it back on, tap the sides of the jar to empty the powder back into the jar, and try again. I almost always get it right the first time now because I know how hard I have to tap to get the right amount for me!
I swirl my brush into the lid until it's well absorbed and application is virtually mess free :goodvibes

The thing I find tiresome is unscrewing so many jars  but I guess that's a small price to pay for such a great result :thumbsup2

I actually store my BE in the bottom half of the box my set came in. I keep all my everyday makeup items lined up in the box and I store it in my dresser drawer. It's so easy to just lift out the opened box and have everything I need at my fingertips! So easy to transport from room to room too, in case the bathroom mirror is available ;) .

:thumbsup2 That's what I do too. Everything is grouped by type. I can choose the right jar without even looking at it. For the ones I use less frequently, I stuff a cotton ball under the lid to keep the minerals contained.

Just for fun, I dare anyone who's been using mineral makeup for more than a month or so to try liquid foundation. I've been using minerals for a little over a year and decided to play one day. YUCK!!!! I'm never going back!

Sorry, I misunderstood the comment. Yes, I never take the sticker all the way off. Sometimes I don't take it off at all but just use a toothpick to poke holes in the sticker and even then I don't poke all the holes. It comes out much slower then.
