What are your thoughts? I met someone who is a life coach and offered her services. This is kinda new to me.

Nope. Someone I used to work with in sales, then became a Life Coach. As far as I know, there's no licensing, regulating, or requirements to become one.

There is some type of accreditation. One that I used offered heavily discounted rates because she had to get like 250 hours under her belt to get her "certification" or whatever it is. You don't have to have it to practice, but there is some type of way to distinguish the real ones from the hacks.

Ha, I have been listening to a "life coach" on my podcasts. Her name is Brooke Castillio. I have Google Play Music, which includes podcasts.

You can also listen on You Tube I believe for free.

I would say that Brooke is a GREAT pick me up when you need it. I recommend her.

ETA Life Coaching is not professional therapy.

Got a uncle is a life coach. He makes a very good living off of it. He has filed for bankruptcy. Lives way out of his means. He needs to practice what he teaches.

I might consider it if they weren't so expensive, but many of them charge more than people who do work that actually requires a license.

I find it pretty presumptuous that life coaches even exist. Do they really think they've cracked the code?

These people bug me so much. Don't waste your money.

I don't have a problem that life coaches exist. IMO they're kind of like hiring out someone to listen and advise when you don't have friends and family to fill that role or need a neutral person. Sometimes people really get stuck and actually WANT someone to tell them what to do. There are so many things I consider a waste of money that are actually helpful to other people.

I do enjoy the running joke on "The Conner's" where Aunt Jackie, a character that is pretty messed up all around, is a certified life coach.
