Watching those stupid infomercials a juicer caught my eye and I was wondering if you have a juicer do you like it, do you use it often, does it really taste good when you add in veggies and fruit together? Thanks, Linda :)

;)I have a juicer and the juice taste great but I don't use it. I maybe juiced 5 times in 2009. There was a great recipe book that came with it. Any thing with carrots taste great. Maybe I will get in there and juice soon.

Was the juicer expensive and did you make anything else with it like soup or smoothies? Thanks, Linda :)

I only made juice and it was medium price range as I recall, bought it about 5 to 7 years ago. I use it so little because I'm usually on some type of low carb diet and can't have fruit.:sad1:

No but, I have tried one. I much prefer my vita-mix blender. It is the kind you often see at places like Panera's or smoothie places. It is more of a whole foods approach but, basically you are getting the complete fruit including the fiber. I do different greens like kale or spinach along with strawberries, bananas, oranges (peeled of course), mango etc. etc. Delish!

Oh, and a lot of the problem I had with the juicer was the mess.

Oh, and I wanted to add it is $$$ but, I use mine almost every day. It is so powerful if you leave stuff in there it comes to a boil! You can actually make soup in it. I have heard of them selling them at Costco (I think it was.)

I have the Jack LaLanne juicer. It's a great juicer but it takes up a lot of space and it is a pain to clean up! I would recommend maybe a blender as another poster said. Takes up less space and onle one thing to clean.

I borrowed a juicer for awhile when I was deciding if I wanted to go juicer, blender, both, or neither. ;)

I loved the juices, but didn't love the clean-up, and didn't love throwing away so much of the food I was juicing.

So I went with a heavy duty blender too. I got the other biggie in raw food circles though - blendtec.

Some day I might add a juicer to the mix, but for now the blender is great. :thumbsup2

Good Luck - it's amazing how many different types of juicers are out there, and how darn specialized they can be.
