We have a 3 yr old and 18 month old and are considering buying this stroller for our upcoming trip. I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with this stroller and using it in the parks. We are staying offsite, so that means folding it up for tram ride from parking lots and etc. We also would like to use it up to the gate at the airport to keep our two youngest contained (we have 4 kids)....We are buying it used from a friend and I have never seen it in person so haven't had a chance to "play" with it.:)

If anyone has any advice about this stroller would love to hear!!

Good question! We looked at one last night at Babies R Us. It would be PERFECT for our 2 and 5 yr olds at WDW. It folds pretty flat but its SUPER heavy. There would be absolutley no way I could carry it while holding the 2 year old, I think it weighs more then my 5 yr old!

I had this stroller about a year ago and returned it a week later. I used it for my youngest sons who were 8mo & 2 at the time. We took it to the local zoo for a test run before taking it to Disney and it was very hard to manuver. The youngest sat in the seat up front while the older sat/stood in the back, with the heavier weight in the back it was very hard to turn for me. Maybe I was so spoiled by my Mac SBS double, but I found it really hard to move around. :confused3

I don't have any experience with the Joovy Caboose, but I do have experience with double strollers at WDW. :)

We also stay off-site and drive our car to the parks. On our first day with the twins back in Sept we realized that the tram was more trouble than it was worth - unloading the twins, unloading the basket, folding the stroller, holding all the basket stuff while we rode, getting off the tram, unfolding the stroller, loading the twins back in, and loading the basket. :faint:

We get to the parks early so we would have a close parking spot. One morning we passed a line of people waiting for the tram, and we walked to the park entrace faster than the tram got there. :)

Moral of my post: If you arrive at the parks early, walking will get you to the entrance faster than riding the tram. :hippie:

I also purchased and returned the joovy, it is major heavy, hard to manuever, and so very long when folded up. I really wanted it for the longest time and then it absolutely was the worst possible thing!

I went back to my graco double for trips where both kids needed a rest. We are down to 2 umbrellas hooked together most of time now.

and yes, the double graco was easier than the joovy! oh my!

We have the Joovy and love it!! My dd's are 4 and 2, so we really needed a sit and stand....we looked at them all and this one, IMO, was the most user-friendly and the least bulky. The are a bit heavy, but I manage fine on the buses at Disney because it folds up well. We've taken it on two Disney trips so far and have it ready to go for next week!

We do use it all the way to the gate at the airport and gate check it at the bottom of the jetway.

QUESTION? Does this stroller have large wheels. I have a stroller situation as well. My daughter has an illness and finds it hard to walk long disances although she is nine ( But very short for her age). I was considering getting a jogging stroller to take to disney. The stroller we have is very hard to push because of the small wheels.

Thanks

Steph

We too have this stroller and really like it. It works well for ds, 3 and dd 10 mos.
However, I chose not to take it to Disney this past Aug and wont take it this year either.
While I think its a great "double" stroller, I think its too bulky for Disney and esp for getting in and out of the buses if you use Disney transportation.
We took two small umbrella strollers and each pushed one.
Actually ended up liking it that way b/c if ds wanted to go on a ride, I could take dd to do something else, etc...
Overall and for everyday use (mall,etc..) I think its a great buy!

Ive used ours twice at WDW (the latest was last week). we drive so dealing with it on the plane wasnt an issue (you might think twice though).

The first time we stayed at the CR and being on the monorail was wonderful. However, when it came time to deal with the buses-what a pain! Thankfully I had my dad to deal with my then 4 yr old son and 15 old daughter. I dealt with the stroller. First, it is heavy (25 lbs not loaded). Secondly, it can be folded with some stuff in the basket, but watch that it doesnt fall out. Thirdly, and my biggest complaint, the wheels lock so instead of pulling it along, you have to pick it up.

Getting around the parks: going up hills and ramps is not fun with two kids in it, so I made my son get out. Stopping quickly and getting going again when people jump in front of you can be tricky too. Leave too much space and its an invitation to jump in. Follow too close and you might hit someone. Little ones in the front seat need to be strapped in as my daughter wiggled down all the time and slid out. My son loved jumping on and off the thing and on this last trip, sticking his foot on the brakes, locking them on purpose. Drove me nuts! He also liked being able to stand up a bit higher to see parades, etc. I like that the back seat slides to cover up the basket, and the small mesh pockets on the back of the front seat to hold drinks, though it does hit the person riding in the back.

Both kids were able to fall asleep in the stroller, but it didnt look to comfy. Watching my kids sleep in the oddest positions cramps my neck! I dont know how they do it. My son would snap the safety strap on the back, then rest his arms on it and his head on his arms. My daughter is tall and when she slept, her legs dangled to the sides and dragged on the wheels (something you might want to test out ahead of time). The little foot rest is worthless for her now.

I did rig up an extra mesh sack to the side of it to carry ponchos and a double stroller rain cover (the generic one at Babies R Us worked well). You can also add cup holders to the hand rail for adults, but I dont know if theyd have to come off before folding it.

This last trip, we drove our car to parks except MK (we stayed at Ft Wilderness) and it was soooo much nicer than dealing with the bus. I think we will drive from now on (as long as we have the AAA diamond parking pass too).

Another popular one is a Sit and Stand. One Step Ahead just brought out a double version (two regular seats, plus a platform to stand on. When the child is older, the back seat converts like a regular Sit and Stand (or Joovy). The regular Sit and Stand is $150 and the double is $180. I believe Target and Babies R Us carries the regular Sit and Stand and BRU carries the Joovy in red if you want to test it out.

Another popular one is a Sit and Stand.

I don't have a Joovy, but I do have a Babytrend Sit and Stand, purchased at Target last year for $120. (I think it is $129 now.) We LOVE it. I brought it to WDW for my DDs 2 and 5, but my DD6 often hopped on for a turn. I had no problem pushing it, there is plenty of storage underneath, and it has a parent tray. At times we even pushed all three of them (over 120 pounds total) at the same time - DD2 sitting in front, DD5 sitting in back, DD6 standing. It was heavy, but worked just fine.

This stroller has been a good fit for us, but my kids are 2 1/2 and 4. The one thing I don't like about it is that the seat does not recline all the way (maybe to 55 degrees). It sit so upright that my DS flops forward if he falls asleep. Otherwise I really like it.

We bought a joovy last summer to take to WDW in November. I really like it and I guess I do not find it too bulky or heavy. I was pushing an Eddie Bauer double before! We stayed off site and did not have too much trouble getting it on and off the trams - but once again the trip before we had a monster stroller! I do agree that sometimes it can be hard to manuver - if the boys are putting all of their weight to one side. But, overall it serves it's purpose.

I bought the Joovy last year right before we went to WDW and on a Disney cruise--and I love it! I have a 3 and 2 year old, and it wasn't anywhere near as hard to push and manuveur as my Graco front/back was and folding it up and carrying on the buses/trams was a dream in comparison. Even on the cruise, it was way better than my Graco that I had the year before. What's most important is my girls don't mind being in it--they take turns riding in the back and I think that makes it fun for them.

My only complaint about it is the lack of storage space and no cup holder but I bought these little hooks and a cup holder at Babies R Us and that solved both problems.
