anyone upgraded last minute?

Like THAT would ever happen? I have a friend who cruised DCL two weeks after 9/11. SO many people had cancelled, yet a CM told them that there were still plenty of cruisers to snap up those rooms at a lower rate and fill the rooms back up.

DW and I were on the Wonder (8/29 sailing) last week and we inquired about an upgrade when we got to the port. We had reserved a Category 9 (outside cabin) and thought that we would take a chance and try to upgrade. When we were checking in (about 11:30 or 12:00) I asked the CM and she said that we should check with the superivsor at the end of the counter. We ended up upgrading from the the Cat. 9 to a Cat. 5 for $298 ($149 each). It woud have been $600 for the Cat. 3 and decided it wasn't worth it for a 3-day cruise. We were in cabin 7634 which starboard aft. It had a steel balcony (vs. the glass) and was a little larger because it was back where it angles toward the very back of the ship The cabin was very nice and very clean. It did not appear worn at all.

The only complaint about it was the vibration at points when the ship was slowing down or docking.

Otherwise...awesome (as usual)! Great weather! Great food!
