I'm hoping to use the 2010 military ticket deal but 4 days is a shorter stay than we'd like. I've heard that you can upgrade to an AP which we would consider doing since we're planning 2 trips this year but I'm wondering if you do upgrade do you only receive credit for what you paid for the tickets ($99) or do you receive credit for 4 days at the Disney gate rate? I had heard some were able last year to receive the Disney rate. Also is it possible to upgrade in any other way so that you're still getting a deal but are able to have more than 4 days?

I've heard you only get the $99 value, not the full price value of the ticket.

This military ticket deal this year is a real stinker. 4 days! Come on... If Disney really wants people to stay longer, they should have given at LEAST 5 days. A week long stay with 5 park days makes sense.

We are going in March, and will not be using the Military tickets because 4 days is just not enough. Instead, we are buying 6 day hoppers plus WP&M from our ITT office on base. I guess Disney wins on that one...since those tickets will cost us about $800 more total than the Military Salute tickets would have...

Can you not add days on this year's military tickets? I know upgrading to an AP would be for the $99 value, but what about after the tickets are activated adding on extra days? Just curious if you know the answer to this one, as I hadn't thought about the cost to upgrade to more days.

To add the hoppers & MP&M to the military 4 day ticket is only $50 total, rather than $100. Can you get these features cheaper on the 6 day ticket you are buying at your ITT office? Again, I'm thinking that if you bought the 4 day ticket with these two features, and then added days at Disney (to make it the 6 day ticket), even if you had to only take a $99 credit on the 4 day ticket, you'd still have saved $25 for each ticket for the park hopper WP&M portion of the ticket.

Let me know what you found out with your math, as I have a military client thinking about going this year, and I want all the info I can get so I can let her know!

Ok, so I was wondering how the credit works for annual passes?

My husband called the Disney number to ask and they just gave him the regular prices of annual passes.
(That's the last time I ask him to call)...

So, someone break it down for me...Please!

Would you buy them at Shades of Green or the Disney ticket office or ITT on post?

Thanks!!

I'm thinking you have to upgrade with Disney although purchasing an AP from SOG would save you some if they would allow you to ($520.27 tax inc. at gate or $480 no tax at SOG)I've read that the best way to upgrade discounted tickets to an AP is to use at least one day of your discounted ticket and then go to front gate and ask to upgrade to an AP - supposedly they will then credit you for what the gate rate was for the one day admission you used and use that rate for all the days of your ticket, including the one you used regardless of what you paid for the ticket originally. If you turn in your discounted ticket for an AP upgrade BEFORE you've used at least one day entering the parks, Disney treats it just like a gift card - whatever you paid for the tickets originally is what you get in credit towards the AP. I think this is what people did with last year's military ticket to get full credit towards an AP. I've never done this myself so I don't know. I would love to be able to do this myself this year. Has anyone here upgraded a military ticket to an AP?

You cannot add days or no expiration on the tickets. You are allowed to upgrade to an AP, but you ONLY get 99 bucks towards your AP per ticket. This is stated specifically in the rules...you can find them online somewhere. Its kind of a bummer, but it still is a good deal. Especially with the give a day, get a day program...you can still get 5 days...or add the waterparks and that sort of adds extra days. There is also a 40% off room discount (that you can add the dining plan to without having to purchase a 1 day ticket) that people sometimes don't know about. I hope you can make your trip work!
