Before a trip??
I picked some up for us adults, and it says good for kids too, 1/2 tablet in water.
How many days B-4 you went did you all take it, and did it seem to keep you healthy??

Thanks!!

I am a firm airborne believer, we usually start about a week before we leave and do once a day, then the last few days I do the three times. We used to say who is it this time that will get sick? but now we haven't had anyone with even the sniffles. We had to try different flavors though. My family agrees the original lemon lime is not the best tasting. We are split between orange and grapefruit. So if they fuss try a different flavor. I still took the lemon lime but choose not to battle the kids over it when I knew they liked the other colors. I get it at costco and it is much cheaper there.

Good luck I hope it works as well for you as it did for us.

Have fun!

My DH drinks them on a daily basis this time of year and he swears by them.

We tried to get my son to drink it, and he refused. He hated the taste and acted like we were torturing him. So I haven't tried again.

Last time I checked the ingredient list they have artificial sweetener. So we don't touch it, and can't imagine giving it to a child.

We use Emergen-C, b/c at least they use real sugar, not chemicals.

And it works very nicely, though we don't give a whole packet to DS, just a fraction of it, of course.

Air born has the sprinkles for children. i am not sure of the age it is intended for, maybe 2+. Ds (15) takes airborn 2x/day for the entire school year. Dh and i take at the first sign of a cold and before crowed situations. We think it helps us all.

I can't deal with the taste of airborne, so I take zicam. Its a nasal swab, but I take it at the first sign of a cold, and it works awesome!

I got my kids the Airborne Power Pixies, and they both hate them! DH and I take orange flavored Airborne anytime we feel like we're coming down with something or know we've been exposed to something. We also take it daily starting 10 days before vacation until we return home. Since the kids won't take the Airborne, I've made them at least take a multivitamin. As for the artificial sweenteners, we are pretty much a no sugar household anyway becuase of weight issues, and I don't think there's anything in our house that doesn't have artificial sweenteners.

Thanks for all the input!
We are on a weight loss program here as well! Low- Carb (went from 264 to 208 lbs since Sept. 1st!)

We do the multi-vitamin thing, but last time my dd was on a plane, she got Very sick!
I may try the power pixies... hmmm

I've tasted the Power Pixies, and personally *I* think they are nasty, so I wasn't surprised when my kids didn't like it, either. I do give the kids half an Airborne tablet in orange juice, and that seems to help with the taste.

My DS5 likes the grape tablets (made for kids). The first time he tried it, he didn't, but after that, I started putting an ice cube in it (after the tablet dissolved) to make it cold. He decided it tasted like grape soda (a little odd, since he doesn't get soda often). He also likes the pixie stick type for kids, cherry I think. We usually start about a week before we leave, farther out if he has been sick any time soon and there is a chance of relaps.

that is a good idea! I think I might try that!

We go to Disney every year and 2 years in a row we all got a stomach bug half-way-thru the trip.
Last year I stocked up on all different falvors of Airborne and DH, DD and I all took it once a day for 9 or 10 days prior (I gave DD a half-tablet each day). Its not the best stuff in th eworld, but knowing the alternative for us, we all gladly took it... and we DIDN'T GET SICK.
I'm going to do it every year now!!!!
Grapefruit (Pink I think?) was our favorite if I recall.

We are big airborne users in our household (get 'em at Costco - 2 big tubes or power pixies). Whenever one of the kids even hints at getting the sniffles, we start giving it to them right away. My older daughter prefers the 1/2 tablet of lemon lime (she calls it her magic potion) and my little one gets 1/2 a pixie stick. While it may not completely ward off a cold, it certainly helps decrease the duration. :thumbsup2 Good luck!
