Anyone think there's a possibility that DRR will open before 12/16?

I think it depends if there is a huge increase in demand of rooms due to Galaxy Edge. Disney might try to rush things to open it earlier. But if it happens, would the already declared rooms be available to book on points or could DVC just rent 100% of the resort until the official opening?

I would love for it to open earlier, I need a place to stay during that time, and cannot book that week until 7 months. Already have VWL, for the front part of the stay. I will be there 11 nights.

I think the rush is already on to get it opened ASAP. Right now the entire building has scaffolding around it. They are most likely working on the siding. If it is going to be luxurious, you can’t rush it too fast.

BLT opened about a month early, DVC allowed member booking for those weeks. I can't remember I know all members were able to book already at BLT by time they opened the additional nights. But I cannot remember if owners had priority booking.

Edit: It looks like DVC Member booking didn't start until have they changed the opening date.

Yes, I do. They would be conservative on the opening date. Most resorts when announced so far in advance have opened earlier as I recall.

It is showing up on the RAT for early December as “waitlist only,” so it seems like Disney thinks it may happen.

We bought at Kidani before it opened and I think it was a generic statement that dues will be pro-rated from the date of opening, the date your unit was available or from the date your UY started (ie, if you weren't receiving current points). It didn't have a specific date it mentioned. Then people's statements will be calculated from whatever the date the resort opens.
