Anyone tell a newbie when mvmcp 05 dates announced?

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anybody can tell me when the MVMCP dates for 05 might be anounced? I am planning a trip for my 40th and Christmas for myself, my husband , our 2-year old , My 24 year -old stepdaughter, her husband ( if he is back from Iraq God Willing ) , their 3 year -old, my 26-year -old step-son,
his wife and their baby in December 05. I know that I need to plan/book as early as possible if we are going to make this happen. Am I foolhardy to try to pull this off? We are going to foot the bill for most of this as they are young families struggling to make it. I will be e-baying my hind -end off for the next 14 months as my husband is a teacher and I work part-time and mostly stay at home w/ our 2-year old. The thing is, we lost my MIL and FIL within 10 days of each other this summer. I think it just hit DH and myself that we don't have forever to make these memories. So , anyway, I have become borderline obsessed with this board and am learning a lot. So..MVMCP 05 , anyone?

Hi!

Usually they are announced in late spring/ early summer of that year! This year I think it was in May.

So probably sometime in late spring 2005

I bought my tickets on May 2nd. Which I believe was the day after the first day of sale. Keep reading the boards and you will find out when it gets closer. This place is a great source of information!!!!

We bought our MVMCP tickets when we got to Disney...so only like 2 days in advance. We went around Dec. 6th or so. Is this is 2nd year of MVMCP or have they been doing it for many years? (We skipped Disney trips for about 6 years) There seemed to be many tickets still available when we bought them last minute. Do you all think this will be the case for this year too?

They've been doing them for several years. I attended my first one in 1998 and have gone every year since.

The past 2 or 3 years they have been Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday nights from the end of November until about a week before Christmas. If you plan a trip in the first 2 weeks of December, you are bound to hit a few dates.

The last couple years all the Friday nights sold out. We go Sunday or Tuesday, I always buy them when we check-in. You get the advance price up to the day before.

This is a good question.......how long have they actually been having MVMCP's ? I know I moved here in 1983 and it seems like it has been happening since then, because I remember going that year......or am I getting to old to remember. I do know that I have been going every year since then. If it wasn't 1983 it was between then and 1986 because I can remember my date, thank God the MVMCP stuck around longer then him!! And I actually still have the picture with him from the party!

I did a bit of research on this awhile back and this is what I could find.

The oldest dates I could find were for 1990 but I also think there were parties as early as 1984...I couldn't find any info on any parties before that year.

MNSSHP on the other hand isn't as old. It goes back to 1995 and it was only on Halloween night. For 4 more years it was only Halloween night and one other night. Then they started adding more and more nights.

Thanks for that info......now I know that I have been attending these parties since 1984, the parties have gotten better every year! I just knew I started going between 1983-1986........where has all that time gone!
