Taking the Transatlantic cruise in September from Barcelona to NYC. If you have used UBER from the Manhattan cruise terminal to LaGuardia, I would like to know how long the trip took (time), and did you have any problem getting a ride when you got off the ship. I would assume that there are a lot of UBER drivers in NYC. Thanks in advance.....jonathan

I can't speak about getting Uber (or Lyft which I prefer personally) from the port, but...I will warn you about the traffic situation at LGA.

It is BAD.

VERY BAD.

As in on more than one occasion people have been getting out of their taxis and car service cars (and friends driving them cars) and walking with luggage upwards of a mile to get to the airport in time for their flights (hopefully). They are doing a massive construction project to bring the airport into at least the 20th century (21st might be a bit much to ask), and that has wreaked havoc on the traffic around the area. Also, any car services are going to a satellite location - I know for pick-up, not sure about drop-off - and you take a shuttle bus...which still has to contend with the traffic.

I would plan on adding AT LEAST an hour of padding to get there and get to your flight. If you can't get something out of JFK or EWR which are infinitely easier to get in and out of these days.

Is the traffic still so bad? We have arranged Disney transportation to take us to LGA for a 1pm flight. Hopefully they will get us there on time!

What day and time of day are you disembarking? If it's early morning on a weekday, you are going to be smack dab in the middle of rush hour traffic. Getting across town can take over 1/2 hour just to get to the tunnel/bridge. What time is your flight?

Traffic is always bad, but it is going to be worse until construction is finished. And I don't know any New Yorker's holding their breath on that date.

While not exactly at the cruise terminal, we did do a Uber trip from nearby the terminal to LGA just this past week. We had a 4:50pm flight on a Wed and left around 1:45. We got to terminal B (we were flying SWA, and that's the terminal with the worst construction/traffic) around 45 mins later. Driver said if we had left a few minutes after 2pm, it probably would have taken closer to an hour. The traffic at LGA is not as bad as it was earlier in year when people were ditching their rides and walking rest of the way. Luggage check in took about 15 mins, but we were in priority lane. The regular line was moving pretty slow, but that was because there was a large school group checking in and those kids were very confused about what to do. Security line took about 25 mins.
Price to airport was about $55 before tip, and we hailed an Uber XL because we had lots of luggage. FWIW, we took a metered taxi from LGA to WTC when we landed on a Saturday at 4:00pm and the taxi was about $51 after tip. At LGA, if you land in term B and want to do a rideshare, you have to shuttle or walk to another pickup point. We decided just to taxi it.
On a side note, the facilities at LGA are quite poor. The seating area is limited, the food choices past security are also limited and not very appealing, and the bathroom situation (especially for women) is flat out disgusting according to DW and DDs. So, if you can, eat and go the bathroom before you get into your ride.

My daughter and granddaughter are coming in to visit this week from Oregon and are flying into LGA.....I guess she forgot when I said to avoid LGA LOL!!!

And she is arriving at 4:00 pm on a weekday. Should be a fun drive there and back in the worst of the traffic!!!!
