Not a Disney cruise, but any good ole cruise to some beach.

I'm thinking about going on a cruise by myself, probably through carnival. I was wondering if any of you folks have done this before and might be able to give me some advice or tell me if I would even enjoy it.

I'm 19 and just finished my first year in college. I need some relaxation :smooth:

Do you like spending time with yourself?
If you are comfortable with spending time by yourself I would go for it. I love reading and eating. plenty of time for both on a cruise!
Go and have fun.

Just be aware that you might be paying a premium price for single occupancy. Aside from that, I'd love cruise by myself-I can't think of anything more relaxing!

I've been on a Carnival Cruise before, a few years ago. Not by myself, though. It was pretty much of a partying type of atmosphere. Something you may not want to partake in, due to your age.;)

The boat docked in the Bahamas, which was absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful swimming and great snorkeling.

I'm sure that you will do fine on your own. Thats great that you are so independent.:sunny:

If you're only 19, they won't let you. People under I believe age 25 have to be with someone over the age of 25...Makes me angry actually, since when I looked into it I won't even have the option of honeymooning on a cruise....Of course, I'm sure Disney would have won that battle regardless! hehe But Carnival definitely has that policy, as one of my friends wound up taking his mother on spring break so that they could go on a cruise (big group of boys).

I haven't but would do it in a flash! My favorite times are when I am alone. I have never had a problem being lonely. Besides, on a ship with 2 or 3 thousand people I'm sure there would be someone to talk to.

Hmm, I didn't know this. I guess I will be choosing a different company to cruise with then, hehe.

Anyone have some recommendations?

Any places yall think someone of my age group would enjoy?

Price really isn't an issue, I have deep pockets ;)

I could only dream of taking a cruise by myself. I would say go for it. You can do what you want to do when you want to do it. And if you just want to sit on deck, relax and read, you don't have to feel guilty about spoiling someone else's time.

If you have the guts, go for it. Me, I can't even go to a movie by myself.

I'd talk to a travel company cause I think you have to be at least 21 on all of them.

I'm looking at a Celebrity cruise book right now, and it says:

"Guests under the age of 21 must be booked in a stateroom with an adult who is 25 years or older."

My guess is most of the cruiselines follow this guideline.

7 out of 8 of my cruises have been solo.

I took my first one in my 20's with Carnival. There were tons of singles on that cruise. I had my Travel Agent book a "share" so Carnival matched me with a cabinmate around the same age. It was a total blast. By the end of the week there were hundreds of us 20-30 somethings hanging out together most of the day.

I would highly recommend Carnival if they will allow you to travel by yourself. St. Thomas, San Juan, the Bahamas and Mexico are great, fun stops.

Thanks for the link judi!

And hopefully if I can find one, I will have as much fun as you do Margie, hehe.

I can't believe so many have that policy. I mean, I can drive half way across the country by myself to Disney World, but I can't go on a cruise by myself? Just doesn't make sense.

Hopefully I don't run into the same problems when I take my European trip :(

Really hoping this whole under 21 thing won't kill this for me. I need this! ::yes::
