Anyone take Steam Engines tour recently?

So sorry I even offered my "info" then since obviously it is not welcomed or seen as correct . I only posted to say that we did, in fact, get a bus from Coronado springs to MK and got there way before check in started. But, I see I obviously didn't know what I was talking about in regards to our own tour we took and what we did or did not get to see.We were very disappointed in the $$ we spent on this tour and won't do it again! Don't worry...I will NEVER post again here though since I have been made to feel most unwelcome!

I am a little taken back by your post...the response was in no way intended to make you feel unwelcome or to offend you in anyway. I am sorry that you took it that way. I am in fact a CM on the Steam Train and I do not doubt that in your experience you were able to get to the tour on time. I was simply stating that the buses are not the most reliable source that early in the morning as they may or may not be running (breakfast seating and Magic mornings do not begin until 8am so if they are a little late it is not a concern...and that was in response to Tyler's post not yours). The tour check in begins at 7:15 and the tour is set to start at 7:30 so it is tight if that bus is running behind. Many people are late to the tour and miss the begining because of transportation issues, I was simply stating that the "best" way to be 100% sure that you are on time is to drive yourself or take a taxi.

I am sorry that you felt the need to erase your post which did in fact contain good information of personal experience. I am also sorry that you feel that the tour was not worth your money. I would just hate for Aisling (or anyone else) to rely on the buses and then have something happen and be late for the tour (guest relations tells you when you book that there is not transportation to this tour for a reason, it is so that you can make arrangements that will assure your not late... you maybe able to make it on the bus, but it does not always work out)

PoohTiggyTwo, this is a Discussion board, people write their thoughts an opinions, no one is out to attack you. I did not get to see your original post as you obvioulsy deleted it, but from what it looks like LB was just trying to correct something you wrote so that others would not be confused. I don't think it was to upset you.

Anyway, we took this tour with my in-laws a few months ago and LOVED it. We drove ourselves to the Contemporary and walked over. Tyler had mentioned that beacuse Wilderness Lodge does not have bus service to MK the boats would start to late to get us there. Anyway, the tour itself was great, about 20 people on ours (3 of them were about 10 minutes late because they took the bus) and it was lots of fun. I got great pictures of us with the locomotives and learned quite a bit about Walt that I did not know. We have been to WDW so many times having lived locally for so many years that the different tours are fun, they give a different side to the park that you don't realize, stuff you look at everytime you are there and don't appreciate because you don't know the story.

I too would suggest alternate transportation just because I really felt bad for the family that was late, they didn't miss much, but it is always a bummer to feel rushed and then arrive late. If you can get the bus and it works out for you then that is great, but...
