Anyone know how long it takes to get from the Orlando Amtrak station to WDW, and also the approximate cost? We are flying down on the 24th of June, and my son and his girlfriend, who won't fly, are taking the train from Philly and arriving on the 25th. We aren't renting a car, so can't pick them up. I'd like to have an idea of how much a cab would cost them. Anybody done this?

Cabs are about $45. Better off taking Mears or a towncar. We just used Tiffany's towncar. $95 round trip from Amtrak to WDW and their web site has a $5 off coupon.
Well worth the money. You can also make a 30 minute grocery stop for no extra charge w/Tiffany's.

The Kissimmee station is closer to WDW than is Orlando, and thus the cab fare will be less from there, if you should decide to go that route.

In addition to being closer, the Kissimmee station is FAR safer. The Orlando station is located in a pretty seedy area. Certainly not the worst Orlando has to offer, but not someplace I'd be comfortable waiting around for a cab in either.

I would go with Kissimmee too. On the return trip, Kissimmee is first and there are many more seats to choose from. Many people boarding in Orlando were split up last Easter vacation.
