There is a small store at the clubhouse that sells convenience items so someone is always working there. After we got our key card though we would go right to the game room or fitness room. The movie schedule was posted right outside the door to the small theater, which is located inside the clubhouse area. The movies themselves were kept with the attendant at the store so if no one was watching the movie at the time you could choose something that you wanted.
Also, the store attendant could help you with pool cues and balls for the game room if you wanted to play billiards. The game room is not that big, mostly pool tables. The ping pong was outside and since we were there in mid-July our group wasn't too interested in that.
The clubhouse and pool are close to the entrance. The playground area is more towards the middle of the development. Again, since it was hot and we knew the equipment pieces would be very hot we did not use that but it definitely looked nice for younger children.
At the pool there was someone working at the slide. During our visit someone was always there and the slide never seemed to be closed. They just control the flow of people going on it and space them out so no one gets injured. There aren't any traditional lifegaurds though on duty....at least not that I could see.
There always seemed to be staff around the clubhouse area if you needed something.
It's funny, looking at pictures of Emerald Island recently made me think that Windsor Hills needs some more landscaping. It seemed liked a lot of "stone" or cement because of all of the houses and buildings. It's very nice and not something that I would give a lot of thought to normally but some more green areas would be good. More trees, plants, etc. It's so new what is there hasn't matured so in time it will fill in and look beautiful.
One thing we would have enjoyed is a small beverage/snack stand at the main pool. We always brought things to the park but for quick trips to the main pool we didnt always feel like packing drinks, etc. At Summer Bay, where we stayed last July, they had a Tiki Bar at the main pool that offered a variety of choices and it was nice if you wanted it.
The convenience store was there but it wasnt quite what we were looking for.
Overall Windsor Hills is a very nice development, very similar to Windsor Palms, and in a good location. It's a nice off-site choice for space and value.
