We were going to stay at CypressPoint Grand Villas and the price was a little over $1500 for two weeks in june 2007.
I found Windor Hills on VRBO and did a general Enquiry and received about 100 offers.
I found a 3 bedroom townhouse will a pool for $1150.
All the places looked really nice from the pictures sent to me, if you stayed there what was your experience.
Any info Windor Hills would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Windsor Hills is a great place to stay. I stayed there in May, in a 3 bedroom townhome. I timed the drive from Windsor Hills to the parking booths at MK and it was 12 minutes (of course, I may have hit the lights just right). The townhome was great, I really enjoyed the splash pool to relax in. I already reserved again for next year.

Bonnie,
Did you use the clubhouse area or the pool?
Was everything pretty clean?
Was it pretty quiet?
Thanks,
Rick

We stayed at Windsor Hills last March and it was beautiful!! Everything was clean and the pool was something we all enjoyed and it was heated and very comfortable. We stayed in a 3 bedroom townhouse with the plunge pool out back and loved it. I would totally recommend Windsor Hills. :)

We did go to the pool area. But in May, the pool water was too hot for us. It was a nice area though with a big slide. Our splash pool was much more comfortable. There is an exercise room, a movie theater and a small store.
Our townhome was very quiet, very enjoyable.

We just returned a few weeks ago from a stay in Windsor Hills. We had a full size inground pool with the large villa we rented. We did go up to the club house pool to use the slide a few times but the kids seemed to like having their own private pool.

The townhouse pools aren't that big though so just make sure you are comfortable with it's size if you plan to use it a lot.

The fitness room isn't huge but it was fully equipped and everything is very new and clean.

We had to leave a $5 deposit for card access that you use for the clubhouse, pool, etc. You get it back when you leave.

I think you'll enjoy your stay there.

Hi !
Could you please tell me if the clubhouse is manned?

Thanks,
Lynn

There is a small store at the clubhouse that sells convenience items so someone is always working there. After we got our key card though we would go right to the game room or fitness room. The movie schedule was posted right outside the door to the small theater, which is located inside the clubhouse area. The movies themselves were kept with the attendant at the store so if no one was watching the movie at the time you could choose something that you wanted.

Also, the store attendant could help you with pool cues and balls for the game room if you wanted to play billiards. The game room is not that big, mostly pool tables. The ping pong was outside and since we were there in mid-July our group wasn't too interested in that.

The clubhouse and pool are close to the entrance. The playground area is more towards the middle of the development. Again, since it was hot and we knew the equipment pieces would be very hot we did not use that but it definitely looked nice for younger children.

At the pool there was someone working at the slide. During our visit someone was always there and the slide never seemed to be closed. They just control the flow of people going on it and space them out so no one gets injured. There aren't any traditional lifegaurds though on duty....at least not that I could see.

There always seemed to be staff around the clubhouse area if you needed something.

It's funny, looking at pictures of Emerald Island recently made me think that Windsor Hills needs some more landscaping. It seemed liked a lot of "stone" or cement because of all of the houses and buildings. It's very nice and not something that I would give a lot of thought to normally but some more green areas would be good. More trees, plants, etc. It's so new what is there hasn't matured so in time it will fill in and look beautiful.

One thing we would have enjoyed is a small beverage/snack stand at the main pool. We always brought things to the park but for quick trips to the main pool we didnt always feel like packing drinks, etc. At Summer Bay, where we stayed last July, they had a Tiki Bar at the main pool that offered a variety of choices and it was nice if you wanted it.

The convenience store was there but it wasnt quite what we were looking for.

Overall Windsor Hills is a very nice development, very similar to Windsor Palms, and in a good location. It's a nice off-site choice for space and value.

So glad you noticed the landscaping it was just voted on in our home owners assoc. to keet the landscaper we are all happy with their work and glad it is noticed.

It's funny but I think on this trip I really looked at things a little differently after reading so many posts on vacation home experiences. Smaller details became observations where as in the past I never would have given them a second thought. (such as the landscaping)

Since we are fortunate enough to have visited the area and the parks on past trips we also found ourselves on this trip planning more down time in the pool home and development. I know for future trips certain ammenities will be more important to us since we will do a lot more than just sleep there.

I think that is whats great about these homes a vacation to us is to have great times but not come home needing a week to recover the commando stile touring of the parks.

Before we rented to a home there was no relaxing time. When we went to a pool we had to much commotion. Now we have our own and do not have to have the added distraction of trying to pick out our 2 sons from the masses.

When we get home we are truelly relaxed and it makes a world of difference. It is just a different kind of vacation and it fits our family like a glove. Down time is spent in a lot more sq. footage so all have their own space.

I don't have to find a lounge chair that dosn't have stuff on it. If I want to move to shade I have it. If I want to have a bathroom break it is close by.

The best is I have my own private bedroom. If I had to share a full size bed with my husband he would be sleeping on the floor I am sure of it.

The best for the kids I think is the pool is always open. Nothing better then rolling out of bed and drinking your coffee in my case a cold water while the kids are in the pool at 8:00 or earlier.

Our pool sees more action then RNRRC.

I was just thinking the same thing! (and laughing about the full size beds....exact same thing with us! If I have to share a bed that size with DH or one of my children it is not a vacation!!) :goodvibes

:rotfl: If I have to sleep with anyone else, it needs to be in a Queen size bed or larger, all the time... not just on vacation.
:rolleyes1

We stayed in a condo at Windsor Hills last year and we are going back next week. We loved it there - the grounds are so nice and it is so convenient to Disney. It's an awesome value too - we find vacation more enjoyable when we don't feel ripped off!

another :thumbsup2 for WH, we stayed there last summer in a condo, and are retunrning this summer to a townhouse- I am curious to try the splash pool- I would love to be able to actually drink my first cup of coffee before my kids haul me out to the pool, hopefully this will accomodate everyone.:goodvibes

I loved reading Princess Michelle's detailed trip report. It reinforces my decision to stay off-site. I have a feeling once we stay at Windsor Hills, we won't be going back to staying on-site :)
