Anyone stay at Shelburne at Murray Hill, NYC?

DH and I are planning a trip to NYC (first timers), maybe June timeframe. Want to go to 1 or 2 Broadway shows, NY Yankees game, the usual sightseeing stuff. DH wants to use DVC points and it looks like the only option is Shelburne at Murray Hill. Has anyone stayed there? Is this our best bet or is it too far from the action (subway, Broadway, Yankee stadium, etc)? Is it easy to book with DVC points? Or are there any other hotels that you would recommend? Thanks.

The other option with points is The Regency -- more points, luxury hotel. The Shelburne gets good reviews on these boards. It is also in a good location because it's not far from Grand Central. You can take the train or subway from there up to the Yankee Game. You can also take the express over to Times Square, take a quick cab ride over even walk.
