My DS said that the bed wasn't that bad, and he can be pretty picky about his bed. He remembers that there was little bedding beyond sheets, although I suppose we could have requested some had I realized he was bothered by it.
While the ES was a lovely hotel and the rooms are quite spacious, I was less than thrilled with our stay. I think it was mostly a matter of bad luck. We were disappointed for several reasons:
1. The room was not ready upon check-in check-in is 3PM, we checked-in at 3:30, we did not get our room until well after 4)
2. We were told that we would be notified when our room was ready (after all, we were just sitting in the lobby), but we weren't. We were ignored until I went back to check on the room.
3. The hostess checking us in was not very courteous.
4. We were assigned a room right next to the elevator. When I expressed my concern, I was told that they had no rooms available away from the elevator.
5. Being next to the elevator was definitely a problem. I could hear the humming of the elevator from my bed in the back of the suite. It was much worse for my DS on the sofa bed in the front of the suite with the constant traffic and noise of people getting on and off the elevator. REQUEST A ROOM AWAY FROM THE ELEVATOR!!!
6. The so-called high speed internet access was a joke -- absolutely worthless.
7. There were some housekeeping issues -- wet carpet, toilet that wouldn't flush, (that was resolved), public restroom next to the pool that was disgusting...
BUT -- I stayed at the ES because other family members were staying there, and they did not have any of the problems that I had. Also, I did submit a complaint through the ES web site, and was sent a coupon for a free night's stay. I thought that was pretty cool.
I would definitely advise that you request a room away from the elevator, especially if someone will be sleeping on the sofa bed in the front room of the suite. And don't plop any money down on the internet access.
