We usually do GCH concierge or sometimes not....wanting to try something new. Curious to know what the differneces are concerning concierge between the two hotels? Any input/ photos will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

We stayed DLH concierge in May. We usually stay at DGC concierge but the DLH renovation looked great, our son wanted to try out the new pool and I liked that the concierge lounge had a view of the fireworks.

It was okay but we will be returning to the DGC for my birthday in a few weeks. There was no advance planning offered, no separate check-in, the food offerings were not as good (though the low carb offerings at breakfast were greatly appreciated!), we had to chase down someone every time to get a beer or glass of wine. And the lounge was incredibly crowded for the fireworks - unless you get there super early, you can't see anything...

We missed the entrance to DCA and the pool was just okay. Our son actually said he preferred DGC's...

But the cast members were extremely nice and the rooms are lovely. Do not miss Trader Sam's for tiki cocktails. It is a blast!!

Very interesting, your opinion is exactly what I was thinking. What I was also concerned about is: say there's one concierge lounge, but there's three towers to the hotel, is it possible that they will issue us a room that's in a different tower than the concierge lounge? With the GCH, concierge rooms are always on the 6th floor where the concierge lounge is....which is convenient. I also like that there is seperate check in at GCH, no lines.

Going by our PPH concierge experience, is it possible you were supposed to talk to the "customer service" desk (that's not the name, but it's a separate desk away from checkin) and have them call up to have you check in at the E Ticket lounge? That's what you do at PPH; there's no separate checkin desk *downstairs*, so you just go to the lounge to do it.

And advance help with planning was part of just booking at an onsite resort. In my email confirmation it says:

"Take advantage of Disney's FREE Vacation Planning services. This exclusive benefit for Resort Hotel guests will add even more magic to your vacation! Let us reserve a magical theme-park tour for you, schedule your massage, take care of your dinner reservations and much more", with an email address and phone number.

Others have gotten phone calls. We never have, and we've stayed DLH and PPH concierge. Of course, we have never WANTED advance help, I find it to be silly. (if I have to tell them what I want, why would I not just call and get those things done directly, instead of waiting for someone else to do it?)

Now, once there, if we wanted something booked for us we could have just asked the staff at that time to do it for us.

My husband asked if there was a separate check in for concierge at DHL and they said "no". It's possible we spoke to someone who didn't know anything but that's a problem in and of itself. At DGC, things don't fall through the cracks like that. It is, in our experience, a much smoother operation.

We also did not get an email with any sort of vacation planning assistance offer...

As for a room in the other towers, our room was in the Adventure Tower where the E-Ticket lounge is but I had heard of others whose "concierge" rooms were in other towers and accessing the lounge was a real pain...

My DH and I are leaving tomorrow, staying at PPH with concierge, someone did call me Sunday to go over things. The CM that I spoke with, said we could just pop over to the front desk and then head up to the lounge. Our last trip in October, we also did concierege, however no one called us last time.

Just wondering if anyone else has done DLH concierge recently?? I think it would be a real pain to book and then find out that the concierge lounge is in a seperate tower than where our room is, we like it for the convenience and seperate no-wait check in is an absolute plus!!

I'm bumping this thread to find out more info on this too!

We are thinking of DLH CL and I am shocked that you could get a room in a different tower!! What a total pain -- I'm just used to walking down the hall the CL lounge. Why would they do this? :confused3 IMHO, the perk of CL is ruined if you have to trek across the property to enjoy it.

I really was leaning towards DLH since it is different than anything in WDW, but now I am starting to worry. :worried:

After reading this thread I called the Walt Disney Travel Co. The CM said she would place in the notes that I wish to be in the E ticket lounge tower w/ no guaranty. She said only when they are extremely booked does placement in other towers occur. The E Ticket lounge rooms are bigger with pool or theme park views. My family will be going during Columbus day time so wish us luck.

We are going during the same time, I don't like the "no guarantee" idea. I would think that would be a busy time. I appreciate you sharing that info!
