Their rates are significantly cheaper than anywhere else I'm seeing, and I believe it's right across the crosswalk.

Is it a dive?

We are NOT picky, we just stayed at Desert Inn and Suites and were perfectly happy with it.

I stayed there in October 2010. It is older and kind of "tired" but I don't think I'd call it a dive (unless you're really picky and you said you're not). My mom is really picky and she expected a dive...she seemed pleasantly surprised that it was just old and tired. ;) I believe it's actually slightly closer to the parks than Hojo.

Its fine. Old and tired is the perfect description. The rooms are actually the largest I have seen in the area. The pool was recently redone. We stay here when we are doing a budget trip and the HOJO isn't available at entertainment rate. There are far worse motels in the area and Anaheim Plaza beats them on price almost every time!

Yes, twice and I'd stay there again if the price was right *no more than $60 per night and couldn't find something better for a similar price, :lovestruc HoJo Retro rate.

We stay there for the great price as well. The rooms are huge, the pool is Olympic sized and fun to play in! I wish they had 2 hot tubs because the one fills up quickly but it's also nice. The beds are fine, nothing majorly comfy or horribly bad, the worst part of the hotel is the water temp, it fluctuates insanely. Seriously, it can go from perfect to icy to scalding very fast. I have been burned a few times while showering. Other than that it's fine, plenty of parking, not a bad walk at all, staff is good, if they fixed the water temp it would be great IMO. :)

As others have said, it's just fine as long as you know it's a $59 motel. It has some neat things, like large rooms w/microwave and I personally like the vintage funky design. Most of the time I would opt for something nicer and be willing to pay for it, but as a budget option, APH is great!

I was glad to see this post, because I had the same question. We recently stayed at the Ramada Maingate, and while I thought it was a step down from HoJo's where we usually stay, I loved the closeness to the parks. I thought I had extensively researched every motel within walking distance and then I saw Anaheim Plaza and I was not familiar with it, but wanted to find out more. Even closer than the Ramada, and if they have good prices, I'm checking it out next time. Glad to hear the decent reviews. I'm not picky either, as long as its clean!!

I will be staying here the week after Easter ($89 a night compared to $130 up across street and $400 at DLH ). This will be my 3rd stay at this location. I really like it and regularly recommend it to other. YES; it is older. BUT the grounds are nice, quiet, clean. The staff is helpful. The rooms are big and clean; they have patios or balconys. The pool is HUGE. You can see the fireworks from the parking lot...oh and parking is super cheap. The walking distance is perfect. It is not a fancy hotel and it is older but I can't find one reason to pay a bunch more somewhere else considering I am NOT a stay in the room or relax hours on site kind of guest...if I was then this might be a different story...otherwiese for a place to take a nap and sleep at night it is a nice place to stay.

If I was going to change anything; I wish they would have a breakfast. BUT there is a frig in the room and plenty of stuff to walk to close by.
