I am thinking of going to see this over the weekend........Any reviews???:goodvibes

It was good. I took my 6yr old and 2 1/2 yr old to see it and my oldest liked it. There are some really cute and funny moments and some not so nice but it was done tastefully. I would say on a scale of 1 to 10 with ten the best I gave it an 8. Next earth day Disney will release the nature movie Ocean. That looks good to.

Hope this helps!

Thx a mint for the mini-review. :thumbsup2 Tues are movie nights popcorn:: last nite finally watched IMAX 3D Monsters vs Aliens - looks like Earth will be it for next week. :goodvibes

Hmmm...I guess I'll have to bribe DH to let me pick the flick 2 wks in a row - good thing he's a sucker for Blizzards :rolleyes1 (BTW, the Midnite Truffle Flavor of the Month is FANTASTIC!) :upsidedow

cheers,
:flower3:

I am hoping to make it....looks like it would be great to see on the big screen rather than at home on DVD.

Wonder if it's playing in IMAX! That would be cool to see. Well we'll have to see what we all think of it after this weekend. Hopefully its a :thumbsup2

I'm planning on seeing this with my daughters. I definately want to see it on a big screen. The previews looked amazing.

:thumbsup2We are going to see it on Sunday. My DS (6) can't wait to see it. It's really cute.:wizard:

Just saw it tonight. Breathtakingly beautiful. The stories it follows of certain animal families were well done.

But the visuals were what makes the film. It's jaw-dropping. And the great white shark jumping out of the water - absolutely awesome.

We saw the 5:30 show this afternoon- everyone liked it very much. Visually stunning, as others have said. It follows certain animals and follows the seasons around the globe. I was so happy the elephants got to the watering hole at the end!! There were some scenes of predator/prey chases, hunts, etc, but no blood or eating the kill scenes. Very well done. There was also a preview for next year's release- The Ocean. It looks like it will be amazing, too!

We are planning on seeing it, too...maybe this weekend. The third graders at my school saw it on a field trip today. One of the teachers said it was 2 hours and the students started getting a little restless, but the adults really enjoyed it.

I saw it today It was so beautifully done.. yea there were certain parts that might slightly scare the kiddos, but thats life, thats nature.. and nature can be amazing and scary.. Of course my favorite was the little ducks in 'flight" school and the humpback whale baby!!

Our family of four saw it yesterday at 5pm show, for a weekday I was surprised how packed it was. My kids are 5 and 8 and I worried if they would sit through a "documentary", they both LOVED it. I was relieved within minutes as my 5 year old was dying laughing over the polar bear cubs. I was surprised it doesn't just cover the 3 families (elephant, whale, polar bears) as the previews indicated, they cover MUCH more. Basicaly every corner of our planet, climate, seasons, species are discussed and looked at closely and described. There is a scene with exotic birds in the rain forest that had us all in stitches laughing, :rotfl:. There were some very intense hunting scenes but I was happy to see they just highlighted the captures, not the kills (except for a shark but it isn't graphic at all). My 5 year old, and even my 8 year old in one scene covered their eyes. I was worried about night mares last night as a result but none occured:thumbsup2 Overall, it was just an amazing film, such breathtaking cinematography, I highly recommend it.
If you go be sure to stay for the outtake real during the credits. It is a very cool surprise where they show you how they filmed it, some funny scenes involving a hot air balloon that I won't spoil for you, and a close encounter with polar bears in the arctic that made us laugh.
ENJOY!!!!!
