Anyone sailing on 6/21/03 Magic

One last check-in before I pack up the computer for a few days!

Hey Kari - hope your brother changes his mind about the Common Grounds. What a coincidence their b-days are soooo close! Too cool!

Disneylover4ever -- Welcome aboard! We have good group of 13-yr olds forming here!

Hi Mary! Thanks for the welcome! And GSCOTT -- A warm welcome to you! Wow - 7 cruises?! Fantastic!

Amy

We will be joining you. We have 8 adults and 5 kids in our group. All girls ranging from 1 yr to 6 yrs. This will be the 1st cruise for all but Grandma and Grandpa. They tested the waters earlier this year. We can't wait. Anyone booked any excursions yet?

It is too early to book excursions through Disney and there is plenty of time for any independents. We may book one excursion independently this time for DD and self - only because I've heard so much positive response on this particular person. And it is about half cost. Otherwise we're in the let DCL handle all of the details group - for better or worse!

Wow! Quite a group of 13 year olds - although DD is still hoping to see a couple of girls that age join the group!

Deb

Thanks for the warm welcome!!! My son will turn 13 in April so I'm sure he will check out CG and we will go from there. This will be our 5th cruise with Disney and the kids have always had a great time aboard, thats why we keep coming back. The girls have always enjoyed the clubs ALOT but our son has been kinda in between the last time or two. We wil just play it by ear, he never lacks for friends on a cruise. It is cold here so even more of a reason to think about laying in the sun, somewhere exotic......
Cindy

Wonder what happened to the counter. We are now at 217 days. Hmmm...strange. I prefer under 200 :).

Hi Kari,

Quick message from my DS. Said to tell you he still has the email address you sent but between coming off football, preparing for the choir's Singing Christmas Tree performances, and now trying to "catch up" on school and Scouts he hasn't been doing much personal on the computer. Maybe over the holidays.

Have great times this Holiday Season everyone!

Deb

I hope every one had a good holiday season!
I need a little advice to start thinking about packing hair dryers i thought there was one in the room but i'm not sure sshould i bring one just incase?
Did any one read about 4Nana i think thats horrible with her room steward reporting her Last cruiuse I got a little sea sick but not to keep me in the room but if i did get sick and tired i don't want to be stuck in my room for 72 hours
Well I hpe everyone has a Happy New Year!!!!
Kari

HI Kari,

I'm bringing one with me - the small travel type - but it has much more power than the "hose" in the stateroom. That is ok, if all you want to do is take some of the moisture out but not at all helpful for styling.

Deb

Thaks 4 your help Deb
What happened to everyone else!!!!!!!!!!!! i hope we can keep our thread alive but i know we can almost close to 150 days
Bye 4 Now
Kari

Time sure is flying. I think everyone is around probably just really busy. I know my time on the boards has been limited lately with the holidays and then our family involvement in theater. We're two weeks away from opening night! Yikes! DD is in the show, DS is working with tech crew - mainly lighting, DH is working sets, and I'm the costume designer/chief seamstress.

Between our work/school schedules and that the DIS is taking a bit of a back seat. But we haven't stop thinking about the cruise!

Deb

We are still around... just got news tonight that another family we know have booked this same cruise. There are still a few cabins available. Now that the holidays are past we will have to really start planning. What excursion is everyone looking forward to most? I haven't even started researching the excursions. Well BUMP!
Cindy

We're still here too. Starting to think about excursions. Where is everyone staying the night before? Is the Radisson the best choice? Has anyone staying in a hotel right along the beach? If so, how far from the ship?

We're still here also...

As far as the night before...We're actually driving down to Orlando...staying Friday night there and driving to port Saturday morning. We're planning on catching one of the dinner shows.

I don't think we'll be doing any excursions. We're just going to spend some time exploring at each port.

Yeah!!!
We're drivin down on the 20th from Jersey i think we're saying over night in St. Augustine or staying somewhere in Disney for the night and driving from there but we're not totally sure yet We get out of school on the 19th so its gonna be so hard but worth it We're not gonna go on any excursions we just wanna go see the sites on our own
my friend's family wants to go how could i find out if there is any more space left on the ship for them
Deb i think thats cool that your whole family's involved with a play im the only one in my family that likes plays but my lil brother sings and is goin to NYC in Feb to sing for Nationals so we're tryin 2 talk him into it but he still plays all his sports and doesn't wanna quit
Kari

Hi all!

Kari that is great about your brother! Wish him luck for us. Talk about family involvement...my brother, who is a professional stunt coordinator, is flying in Thursday night and has sent equipment ahead so we can really FLY some of our monkeys!

Anyway as for excursions -

Key West: we're looking at the kayaking. Shirley from Perfect Gift did some checking on the nature kayaking that was listed a few months ago and it sounded disappointing. But DisneyDarwin posted a trip report just recently and it looks like that excursion has been changed. They take you out to a nature preserve.

Cozumel: DD is determined to go horseback riding so that means I'll be going with her. Will more than likely book through DCL just for the peace of mind, especially after reading Barb's post. DS & DH are still deciding what they want to do, although it will probably involve snorkeling.

Grand Cayman: Will be one of the excursions that involves snorkeling and StingRay City.

Also the kids are thinking about the teen junkanoo at one of the ports and also the teen challenge (DS - DD is thinking beach time) on Castaway Cay.

Kari

We only have 5 months!! I started out with a year. I'm glad it is 2003....as my cousin says, we can now say we are going on the cruise "this" year!!!:bounce: :bounce:

Hi all,

Well the show is over, strike is done (ok, except for all the costumes that have to be washed and stored but there is some slack time in getting that done).
Now the next big item on the schedule to look towards is the cruise. Popped in for the first time in days and saw we're way under 150 days.

Time is flying now!

Kari - how did your brother's choir performance go? Or is that still coming up?
