Anyone resolve to finish their scrapbooks?

I don't come to this board often, so if this thread is a repeat, I apologize.

I am so far behind, I don't know where to begin. I have at least 3 scrapbooks that should be done...but aren't. They are anywhere from 50-90 percent complete. There is probably a 10 step program for a person like me, but I don't know where they meet:goodvibes.

Are there others like me out there? My resolution is to take the next week or so and finish what I've started. If any of you have found yourselves in this situation, how did you approach it? Did you just focus on the one most finished and get it done or start with the one least finished and tackle it first?

I'd appreciate your input

I have one album in the making, one heritage album I need to start along with our Dec. WDW I need to start. You aren't alone.:grouphug:

Some say start with the most recent photos, and sometimes I do that. But I am know to drop that to work on vacation pics.

What ever you decide to do is fine, just get to it, Missy!;) :goodvibes

You are definitely NOT alone. I would be more prone to finish the one that is mostly finished first. That way I am feeling good and like I can keep going. If I went with the least finished first, I think I would feel overwhelmed.

Don't work on them because you feel like you have to, do the ones you want to do! You won't like the end result if it feels like you have to do them. Trust me!

My Disney album took 2 years to do, it began to fell like a chore so I put it away for a while.

flip through the pages that are done so far, which album inspires you the most. Think about the memories, how you felt, what you were doing. Draw your inspiration from that. Take it one page at a time.

I have several albums started, but that is just me. I can't work on one thing for too long, I get burnt out.

You can also join our monthly challenges to get inspired. We just started a new one for January.

Oh and they are 12x12 step programs and we meet in room 101 every other Tuesday. :rotfl2:

Thanks for the support. :thumbsup2 The kids go back to school tomorrow and I have the day to get started on this.

I have to echo what everyone has said--you are SO not alone! I have about 10 albums that are in various stages of "started". Some are from different vacations (I tend to do one album for each vacation) and some are different years of family albums. I agree with everyone--start with what is inspiring to you right now!!

Welcome aboard! This board is such a great group of support!!! :thumbsup2

Welcome aboard!

I have albums from 03 - 06 that are almost done, I got really behind in 06 due to moving to a new house.
so when I started getting caught up I went through each year and put like groups together ie b-day, summer, x-mas, etc. did each year and then put aside and will get them in albums when each year is done. It was very quick for me since I only had to take out each theme once and then move on.

My goal is to finish up 03 -06 and then 07 by March, then will do our Jan 08 WDW by May as we are going on a AK Cruise in June, so both of those will be HUGE projects.

Good luck, we are great motivator's hear, join the monthly challenge and get scrappin!!

Finish??? What's THAT? I've had to give myself permission to scrap what energizes me and file the rest - I have 6 decades of unscrapped photos!

I will never, EVER be finished!

I am currently working on July 2004 in both kids books. I still have plans to scrap all our Disney trips - and we have been on just over 20 - so that ain't happening any time soon! I have THOUSANDS of pictures and most of them are organized, but still...

I only scrapbook when I am in the mood so that makes things take a lot longer. I don't want it to become a chore.

Jill

I'm so glad this question has been asked today because i've finish today my first album of my DS life.:thumbsup2
I've chossen the best pictures of specail events over the last 24 years.
Still have 2 other family tree books to do and start another of my DS life to continue on .:goodvibes
Happy Scrapping everyone.:upsidedow

I am totally with you. I have major guilt with scrapbooking. I love to look at the magazines, watch the QVC shows on it, look at all the stuff in the stores and of course buy, buy, buy! But when it comes time to actually scrap, something happens to me. I freeze. I wish someone I knew scrapped locally. Nobody does. I think I need to start small and just get moving.

Wish me luck!:thumbsup2

I'm glad to know I'm not alone. I've done 4 pages this morning, so, I've at least started. I chose the book I wanted to do the most.

None of my friends scrap so I always felt like I was doing this by myself. I started going to crops at my local scrap shops, found a really nice place and made some scrap only friends. I only know these ladies from scrapping and I only see them at crops but we know all about each other. They are my scrap buddies and I look forward to scrapping with them when I get the chance.

To answer the OP's question, I did resolve to finish some books and I will be starting with the one that is closest to being done. In my case, it is my 2006 Life Album and it is 90% complete (only 6 pages left to do) so I want to get it done.

After that, I will probably alternate through a couple of my other books depending on how I feel. I don't like to lock myself into one book because I get bored and then scrapping feels like a chore.

My mom and sister are going to start scrapping, but I have my scrapping girls at my LSS. We crop every other Friday night and they're awesome.

I'm going to finish a disney trip album today!!! about 10 pictures left and they may all go on one page lol.
Then I plan to finish 2007 family album-just need to finish Halloween and New Years eve and about 10 random pages,
start on 2008 and try not to get more than a month behind!
Of course, I have 20 years worth of family pictures in boxes, organized, that I can work on.
None of my close friends scrap either. I've met some great new friends at crops. I'm not very outgoing-so this was a huge out-of-my-comfort-zone step! I now crop with them one Friday evening a month. Two were already friends, the other 6 just met scrapping! In Sept. I met up with some old high school friends- Class of '84 lol and 4 scrapped so we have gotten together 3 times now.

Trust me, we all can see ourselves in your statement - so much to do!!! Since I teach, summer seems to be the time when I accomplish most of my scrapping. Yes, weekends are great, but there is so much to get corrected, or completed here at home.
I, too, love my 8 hr crops at my CM's home, and my DH gave me 2 crop gift certificates for Christmas - so I have no excuse but to get more done.

I finished up my 03 - 06 pages tonight! and will get them in albums tomorrow, its such a great feeling to finally have them done.

I have one friend here that scraps and we are going to try to get together at least 2 times a month, but she has 3 kids (1 is only 6 mos) so her schedule is a lot crazier than mine with only 1 kid.
